How do I go back to a world that doesn't have fireworks every night?

I am totally looking at early june too! my son's b.day is June 7. :) and I'd love to stay at POP. you got 5 nights for $407? I put in less nights and it costs more...what nights did you put in??

Sorry, my bad. My bday is the 3rd. I was looking Friday-Monday (only 3 nights). I figured we would have an early flight out and a late flight back and get a full 4 days in.

I always thought weekends cost more than weekdays, but I'll keep looking for a good deal! thanks for the info!

edit - figured it out! I wasn't going through the discount page!

I just sat and read your whole TR :)

Thanks so much :) It is a pretty short TR, but I get bored trying to stretch it out, so it is what it is...

We will have a great trip. I am not planning on doing much other than the beach, pool, shopping and eating :) We have gone every year since they bought the house 8 years ago. It is so relaxing there. Yay!

Thanks for sharing it all with us! I have a feeling you may be back sooner rather than later it seems! It was a treat to read about your trip!

Thanks so much :) I am totally hooked on the DIS now, so I'm sure you'll "see" me around. Not sure about the birthday long weekend now....some unexpected things happening with hubby's work and we will have to wait and see what happens.

Bradey and I still leave tomorrow morning bright and early to go visit FL again. I checked in this morning and they offered a $49 upgrade to first class! And if you did that your bags were free! So I would've paid $40 for the bags anyway, I had already paid $12 to get assigned seats, so I paid a total of $46 more to be up front! Yippeee! Pixie Dust and it isn't even Disney :)

that's awesome pixie dust....have a great trip!

hope you'll still be able to do your disney trip!

Well we are back from FL. It was a nice relaxing trip. We didn't do much besides sit around the pool and go out to eat, but thats what I wanted. Bradey was really starting to get into the pool this year. I am thinking it may be time to sign him up for swim lessons this summer.

So, I guess this TR is over :( It seems short, but maybe the next one will be better. Thank you all for letting me share my experience with you. I am hooked on the DIS now, so you will probably see me around and hopefully sooner rather than later we will be able to get back to the World.

Now I can stay caught up with all your TRs :)

You stay at Coronado, right? That looks great too. I would like to try that sometime too. I just want to stay everywhere :) It is so hard to decide! And now with the new Art of Animation....oy! We have to go every year :)

Yes, we do. It's always been our home away from home resort until we stayed at Old Key West last year and found it was cheaper renting points than staying at CSR (but I'm sure we'll be back one day).

I did NOT forget about your TR. Our youngest son got engaged two weeks ago and then we went to Dubuque, Iowa, where he and his fiance live and things have just been really hectic between that and my boss and his wife being ill.

I loved your report (isn't Kona's breakfast great?...a new favorite of ours which I just squeezed in for our September trip). You guys sure had a good time, and your son is just too adorable (love all the photopass pictures).

Hope you are having a great time in Florida now.

Hi Suzi!!

I am so sorry I lost track of your TR while I was gone and after I got back... I am so sad that it's over. :( Please, can't you find something else to write about???? C'mon - I know there has to be some detail you over looked????

Thank you so much for writing this - when it seemed I would never find the Disney magic after Rufus died - it was your TR that made me see it again, and actually let us look forward to the trip we worked so hard to plan. :)

I hope we'll continue to see you around The Dis - and just so you know - it's never too early to start a PTR. ;)

(((Many hugs)))

Thanks Kathy :) Markie's engagement is so exciting! Congrats to you all :cheer2: Its so nice that you guys got to go out and see the happy couple....it makes it so much more special.
Kona was by far my favorite of the whole week, both breakfast and dinner. I don't think we could ever go to WDW without stopping there and Capt Cooks. Someday I might try O'Hana, but I really don't feel like we missed anything that great with all the other choices we had.
We did have a wonderful time in Cape Coral. Luckily my boss wasn't too busy while I was gone, so I didn't have too many messes to clean up yesterday :)

Oh don't worry D~, I'll be around. I am so addicted now. I'm having fun catching up on your TR since I didn't check DIS very often on vaca. I can't believe you already have more pages than me and I'm all done :scared1: But you've done this before and have all those craft friends that like to bump up your post count :lmao:
Glad I could help you in some small way to deal with your loss. And I gotta say, I have never been a dog person, but those pictures of Max just make me want one so bad! I think Bradey would like a puppy ;)

Welcome back Suzi!
happy you and Bradley had such a fun trip....hope we get photos!

Actually, I didn't even bring my camera! I got it out and put it on the counter right by the door so I wouldn't forget it.....and I forgot it. But my Mom took some pics, so I'll have to steal them from her.

bummer....I'm sure you mom won't mind sharing with you!

Okay so here are a few pictures from our trip to Cape Coral, FL last week. It was so nice and relaxing. We didn't plan to do much more than hang out at the pool and spend time with my parents. We won't see them again until the end of April.

This picture is actually from last year (you can see the difference in the pool liners) but it was a good shot of their lanai and pool. They are on a fresh water canal in a nice quiet neighborhood.

Bradey and Grammie enjoying the pool. We can't get him to dunk his head under yet, but he was swimming alot with the floatie.

We drove about an hour to a nice little orange grove to pick some. Now we live in Maine and we go apple picking quite often, but this was something different. Oh the smell! Yum! And they had a pet gator named Hannah that we got to visit with too :)

Out for a boat ride in the canal. This is something we have to do at least once during every trip. I love just floating along and looking at all the pretty houses.

Minigolfing is always fun. We don't keep score, but I think we are going to have to start that this year. He is getting good!

fl20124.jpg

Usually we drive down to the Everglades to see gators and eat at one of our favorite places (Oyster House in Everglade City) but this time we found something a little closer. This was at Lake Trafford. We tried to get him to let us take out an airboat, but he didn't like how loud they were. So we just settled for a walk around the shore looking at the wildlife. Don't worry, that gator wasn't nearly as close to him as it looks :scared1:

So thats all the pics I have. I can't believe I forgot my camera! Thank goodness mom was there and as camera happy as always :)

WOW!!!! Those are amazing pictures! I can't believe how much bigger Brady looks even compared to your trip photos! It looks like you had a wonderful time. So, did you fly or drive down?

D~

Thanks D, we flew. No way I am driving from Maine by myself (Bill didn't come) with a 5 year old. Not happening :) It was my first time flying alone with him, but I wasn't worried. We had an hour layover going down and a 2 hour layover coming home (so there was little danger of missing a connection). I wish Portland had more nonstops, but thats the way it is. We got upgraded to first class on the way down and that was great. I was a little annoyed at all the "looks" I was getting from people as they got on. Even from the flight crew....I didn't think it was illegal to bring a kid in first class. But he is such a good flyer and when we got off almost everyone up front commented to me about what a good boy he was :lovestruc I just told them that this wasn't our first time and we knew what to bring and how to handle the ear pressure thing. We played UNO for most of the trip and he watched a movie for a bit.

So, I have news everyone....

I have decided to book a cruise for our anniversary in September. We went on a cruise for our honeymoon, so it just makes sense to do another one for our 10th. We are taking Norwegian Cruise Line out of Boston to Bermuda for the week. It will be much cheaper than normal since we don't need airfare to Boston (only a 3 hr drive). And we just found out yesterday that cousins of mine are going on the same cruise. So it will be soooo much fun! I haven't told Bill about this yet. He gets a little attached to his money, but hey...its either this cruise for $2000 or Disney for $3500. He gets to chose :littleangel:

Grats on the cruise! I can't wait to hear all about it! I'd love to do a cruise ... but I'm a bit scared to! (I suffer from motion sickness.)

My DH is the same way ... he's very attached to what little we have. :lmao: I'd rather invest what I can into memories though. :cloud9:

THat is so awesome about the cruise Suzi! I can't wait to hear all about it!

I just have to comment on this. Now that my girls are older, and especially now that we have taken this Disney trip together, I am reminded of how much time we wasted on things that didn't create memories. Looking back, I wish we would have invested more $$ into trips and spending time together - I know, when we were first married, and the girls were little - we didn't have a lot of $$ to spare. But through the years, we've managed to save and take a few vacations that are really imprinted on our memories. I look at the girls and realize that I only have 4 years until Allison graduates and goes to college (5 for V) - and I think of all the time we wasted. It really makes me want to make up for it, in a big way.

So, I just wanted to say that... make memories while you can - they do grow and they grow fast, and before you know it, you'll wish you had made those memories.

D~ <--- if you learn anything from me today, learn that. :lovestruc
