How do I get my express passes?

Hi! We are Disney people and figuring out Universal has been a learning curve. We have a package through Costco for 4 nights at Universal and 4 day 2 park tickets staying at Cabana Bay. We are adding on 1 night at Royal Pacific (a 5th night) so we have 2 days of express passes. We weren’t able to connect the RP reservation in the app so how will we get our EPs? We would ideally head to the park on check-in day before the hotel but will we have to physically pick up passes at the hotel? Are they actual printouts that we scan at rides? I know we pick up our tickets that we bought through Costco at a kiosk but the EPs aren’t connected with that reservation.

You have to check in at Royal Pacific to get your room keys as those are also your express passes. You can check in as early as 6:00 a.m.

Royal Pacific guests receive the ep when they check in
It’s valid (ep) for check in and check out day

If your room is not ready, the front desk will issue you the hotel key card which is valid for using the ep lines

I would also like to add that you’ll have to wait in a separate line for your actual tickets. It’s a different counter a few feet from the check-in desk. We had a costco pkg last year at Royal Pacific for our first UV stay and that surprised me. I was used to Disney with one line and everything taken care of thru the check-in process.

Universal’s app is not the same as Disney’s with regard to linking your reservation; it doesn’t allow you to do that. As previous posters have mentioned, your room key is your Express Pass, and you’ll have to pick your physical tickets up at the Vacation Planning desk or kiosk at your hotel in addition to checking in at the Front Desk.

The hotels are operated by Loews, not Universal. Hence the disconnect compared to Disney .
