Okay...I'm a newbie so I'm confused!

I've been reading (everything I might add) about getting to the MK *early*..before opening to get in line. I've read several times about a TTC and then taking a ferry or the monorail into the MK!?!?!?! Do I not just get in a line, go through a turnstile and then I'm in MK? Will I go through TTC?

Oh, we are staying at CSR and I'm assuming the best way to get to the MK is by the resort bus.

Please explain to me how I get into MK! :confused3

Hi there and welcome to the DIS! The MK parking lot is at the transportation and ticket center (TTC) where those who haven't purchased their tickets in advance will purchase their tickets. Those of us who've purchased tickets in advance will walk past the ticket booths and either take the monorail or the ferry to the Magic Kingdom. The MK is about a 15 min monorail ride away from the TTC. The ferry takes a bit longer. Once you are let off at the MK you will be allowed through the turnstiles but not past the train tracks (which run overhead) until the park opens. That's where you'll have to wait in line for what people call "rope drop".

Since you'll be staying on site and taking the bus, the bus will drop you off at the main gate of the MK - you will NOT have to go to the TTC.

Hope this helps! And hope you have a great first trip!

Thank you! Just to make sure I'm clear...the resort bus will take us directly to the MK entrance and we will *not* have to worry about the ferry or the monorail?

What about getting out of MK? Do resort buses stay at MK or we will have to take the monorail or ferry back.

Yes, the resort buses will report back to their designated numbered spot at the bus parking. You'll just walk out of the Magic Kingdom gates and find the bus for CSR (easy to do, big signs for each hotel).

Yes the resort bus will take you to the MK bypassing the TTC.

Not to confuse you but this is not exactly "at" the gate. There is a whole resort bus area where all the resort buses drop off and pick up. When you leave the MK you will go to the same area to get on a return bus. There are well marked lines for each resort so just check the signs for which one goes to CSR. The place you are dropped off is not always the exact location you want to return so check for your resort pick up location. You will not need to take a ferry or monorail from the MK to locate these areas. It is just a brief walk. Have a wonderful trip.

Everything is prety well marked. We did not have any problems on our first family trip. Good luck and enjoy!

This was great info. My family and I are going for the first time on Monday. I was wondering about the same thing.

Hope you have a wonderfully magical vacation! We oldie's have, and die to go back....ask any question, and we'll try to help you!!!! You may want to take a monorail trip, just to see what it's like, and the ferry is also a wonderful trip also! You can get off the monorail and visit the contemporary hotel (Chef Mickey's restaurant-character buffet), the polynesian hotel ( ohana's for stitch's breakfast), or the Grand Floridian for tea! Enjoy!
