How do a Princess & Pirates go from Wilderness Lodge to a Disney Cruise PTR

Good call on the boat. I learned more about transportation around FW when we went there for the BBQ.

The petting zoo is close to the bus stop. That whole beach/boat area is bordered on one side by the lake/boat and the other by the road/bus. When we went to the BBQ, we took the bus and when we walked from the bus stop area we saw the petting zoo.

How weird that there were no pets?

Here's a link to my review of the BBQ. I'm not sure what happened to the one picture.:confused3

Thanks for the link! I am just gathering information so I can make a plan, BBQ, WCC, Hoop de doo.. :scratchin kinda glad I have a month to go till ADRs!

Thanks for your BBQ review. That was the best one I have ever read. :thumbsup2

I've been curious about it, but I have to admit the reason we have never done it, even after staying at FW a few times, is b/c I don't handle the heat very well (and one of my DS, also seems to have inherited the overheating gene). When we have stayed at FW in the past, it has been in early May, but even then I felt it might be too hot. I noticed you wrote your review in August. Does that mean your trip was also that summer? How was the heat factor? Did they have spray fans or anything like that?

Thank you for including that link. It just adds greatness to my PTR!:snooty:

I totally relate to the heat thing. DH too. DS is a typical kid. He gets hot and doesn't really care too much.:rotfl:

We did go to the BBQ in August. There were no spray fans. I really must find out what happened to that pavillion pic. It is totally covered. Totally. There's not a lick of sunlight pouring into that place. I don't recall if there were ceiling fans.:scratchin

But I remember the heat being tolerable. Really. I do. It's an evening into nighttime thing. The sun isn't really a factor.

You are so funny about that link and greatness.:snooty: :lmao:

Okay, a couple things:

1) I hope that if I have a son someday that he is as beautiful as your two boys!

2.) I am going to Wilderness Lodge too and this was pretty helpful PTR

3.) You sound like too much fun!

4.) we were at MNSSHP 2008 too!

5.) I have the same pirate ears!

:cheer2:

As this is a PRE-TR, I am going to go ahead and type out my PRE-scheduling plans. I know that this is something NO ONE ELSE does on these boards, to actually plan out our days ahead of time...(is there a sarcasm smilie?:sad2: )

Fri. March 13th Go Home Day
9:35am WCC for breakfast

That's it folks. What do you think? Those of you with DDP knowledge and experience, do you think the DDP is worth it based on my ADR's? I would really like your DDP feedback, as that would be another FIRST for me, we have never done the DDP before.

WELL. (If you get to know me, you'll soon realize that I usually start my posts [or speaking for that matter] with either "Well," or "So."
WELL. I have quoted myself above with the schedule I created for myself oops, I mean FAMILY, and wouldn't ya know it, but it has to be changed (is there a smilie that growls?:crazy2: )

My boys are in public preschool, but there is a private school we would like them to start at for Kindergarten next year, and they are having their Kindergarten Open House Saturday, March 7th (day before race ). I have already talked to my TA and she was able to move the dates up, so now we are Sat - Sat, instead of Friday-Friday. But it means no Park Fare character breakfast, and also, I will have to RUN (and I'm a Powerwalker) to the WWS Expo to get all of my marathon information for the NEXT DAY. Doesn't give me much "mental" time to prepare before the big race.

I think the Kindergarten thing is from 9-12, so maybe if I leave at 11, and make sure the car is packed up beforehand, we could still make it to Disney by 3-ish (especially if I'm driving:cool: [we really need a Bouuuhaha smilie, or maybe one with horns and a mischievous grin]). When you do one of the Disney races you have to go to the Expo a day or two early and pick up all of your info and race number, etc. blah, blah, blah...

Anyway, I'm a little befuddled and veklempt about this. I just have to wrap my head around it a bit, and get used to it. I'm also supposed to have my FIRST Dis meet at 5pm that Saturday, I'm wondering now if I will still be able to make it? By the time I get into town, go to the Expo, pick up my things, check in at the WL....:sad2: I just don't know.

I'm almost as confused about this as I am about the DDP... (ha, ha, that's a shout out to Rabbit.) Who not only helps me make decisions about the DDP, but THEN throws a money wrench into the plan by going Deluxe herself, and making me question myself all over again.... (Her PTR explains everything.)

Oh shoot. I just re-read my previous schedule, and Saturday was supposed to be a MK day!! We have ALWAYS done MK first on our trips. Oh dear. This is even more messed up than I realized, and I only moved things one day.:sad2: Oh dear. Oh Bambi.

And before I drown in my own pitty party, let me do a shout out to Crown Princess for popping by my PTR!:cheer2: YAY!

CP is one of the soon-to-be-brides doing a PJ for their FABULOUS Disney Wedding! I follow some of the brides, and CP is one of them. That's also how I discovered Lurky Loo. I first got addicted to her wedding planning, than her wedding report, then subsequent trips, and actually, she is at WDW right now celebrating her 1st anniversary. Wow. I feel like I really know these girls. And I'm so envious they get a Disney wedding, which is why I live vicariously through them by reading their planning reports.

I have been following CP for awhile now, but she does need some encouragement to post more pictures.....c'mon now dear..... pics are the rule around here.::yes::

But seriously, thanks for the sweet comments on my PTR. And those pirate ears.... ROCK!

My brain is dead. I've turned to mush. I'm back from my couples dance class. I read your update and all I can think is

:scared1::sad2::scared1::sad2::scared1::sad2:

because that open house really through a monkey wrench in your plans.:scared:

But I have to say KUDOS
:cheer2:

You have a great attitude about it. Way to go MOMMA!!!:thumbsup2 Becoming a parent means often putting your kids well being above your own wants/needs. I think it is fantastic to see such evidence of a devoted mom. You rock, you seriously do.

 It will all work out.

Thanks for the shout out!

I jsut wanted to say I enjoy your posts, they are fun, and I also love that you used the word "verklempt" to describe how you felt about this dilemma. Hey, didn't you say you were Irish?!?! :upsidedow

Yes, true. But I also say I think I was Jewish in a past life. For instance, I make a great matzo ball soup!
No really, my grandparents always lived in Jewish neighborhoods and I grew up hearing Yiddish words. I didn't know they were Yiddish until I became an adult, I always thought they were Gaelic!

ha, ha. Sad, but true.

Hey. Saw your link in another TR and had to come over and ask about the marathon. We'll be there in 27 days and this is something we might like to do. Tell me more....please. :goodvibes Tammy

I'm not sure what you would like to know... The race is at 6:30am:scared1: on Sunday, March 8th. It's an inaugural event, so the first Princess!!!! Are you interested in running or watching? If you are interested in doing the race, I hear it is at 90% capacity, so you could still sign up for it. There is a great thread going of the Princess Half doers. Alot of great ladies on that thread. Some experienced marathoners, other novices like me.
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1817457

We are actually running through the Castle! Apparently that doesn't usually happen for the other races.

Ya wanna join in?!::yes::

Well, I did 7.5 miles today. Notice there are no dancing banana's this time. Did not go well. I guess I pushed myself harder than I was ready.

I got a large blood blister on the bottom of my left foot from new sneakers that I guess don't fit well and when I got home, I was "sick" twice. Not pleasant. And not good for marathon training morale....:guilty:

I'm feeling a little disappointed in myself. Oh well...

Loving your report! Your boys are adorable!! I am a grandma to two boys and I have so enjoyed your trip pics and tips!
I hope you feel better and your blister heals quickly!!
I will be looking forward to more of your plans!!

Thanks Sunnie. Thanks for dropping by. I'm feeling better today, I'm glad you are enjoying my report. I've got a few snags re: my trip that I still have to iron out, so new posts are coming, I think.
My boys do take cute pictures, don't they...;)

Oh NOOO Donna!

I'm so sorry you had a bad run.

Major bummer about the blister. Sometimes your socks can make a big difference too. I have issues with shoes. I have weird feet. I really like Wright Socks. They are a two layered sock. It's supposed to help reduce blisters. It has helped me with problem shoes. I got mine at my local REI store.

Hope you are feeling better soon. pixiedust:

Hi! Just wondering how the training was going?! It is getting close :cheer2: have you made any more plans for your trip?!!:upsidedow

HI Guys
Well, for those of you that are following my training for the Princess Half, I did 10 miles on Sunday. I jumped from 7.5 to 10.

I was stiff and hurting afterwards, but feel good today. I followed some great advice from my other Princess racers and did much better this week than last. I even awarded myself one dancing banana.

I even "ran" a little bit this week. Not only was I pushing myself to go 10 miles, but I wanted to do a 15 min./mile, and I ended up averaging 15.6 min./mile. Not bad.. I don't usually run, but I think to stay ahead of the 16minute+ sweepers, I am going to have to hop-to-it a little bit.

I don't know if there are any changes to my trip. I'm concerned about not making it to WWS by 5pm on Saturday. That's where we have to go to pick up our packets and race numbers, etc. If you remember from an earlier post, we are trying to get my boys into a particular school, and they are having their Open House the morning of Sat. March 7th, my race is the 8th. It is from this Open House activity, where they will choose the children for the upcoming year. It will be so close....WWS closes at 5 on Saturday, if I miss it, I don't think I can do the race. We are 4+ hours from WDW, the school activity is from 10-12.

I was also supposed to have a Dis meet at 4:30-5pm at POR. That's where a bunch of us Princesses' are to meet, take pics and load up on the all you can eat pasta bar.

   I have to admit I'm a bit nervous about how all of this will fall into place.

Oh Donna, I hope it all falls into place very well!

I think the key will be being able to seriously hit the road after that open house. You'll have to be all packed up. You'll have to have food in the car for lunch, hit the bathrooms on the way out, and then keep those boys strapped in their seats for the next four hours!

Way to go on the 10 miles!:woohoo:

Congrats on the 10 miles!! :cool1:

Hopefully everything will fall into place and the times will all work out.
