How did your children get to school?

Drove them when they were in the before/after care program when younger.

Later took public transit or walked. Sometimes get dropped off or picked up depending when their father's shift started.

Either my wife, myself or FIL drive them the half mile to school. My 10 year old walks home one day a week. Otherwise there is an after school program they go to until we can pick them up. Occasionally I'll walk to go get them and make them walk home.

Walked until friends started to get licenses in HS (17 here, no student parking).

Grade school they either walked or I picked them up. I mostly picked them up afterschool and they usually walked in the morning, unless it was raining.

High school I drove them and picked them up until they got their license then they drove.

Elementary- walked
middle and high- bike or I drive them. Weather dependent.

We live in the country but open enrolled to a different district so we had to drive them every day. I worked in the same town part-time so it was convenient. I only had to get them to that town, for the years that they attended buildings in other towns there was a bus from town to town.

For a couple of years the daycare took the kids to school in the morning. When they stopped DD was in 4th/5th grade and rode the bus to school. The daycare picked them up from school. In middle school and high school she rode the bus home until she got her license and drove herself.

Mostly by bus, but some walking years too. When very young we lived near an elementary school and they walked there. Later in a different town, the middle school was close by and they walked to that but took a bus to the elementary and high schools.

Bus. They are special education students, so get door to door bus service per the law. There are otherwise no busses in our district.

Bus. We share a school system with the neighboring village. Our village has K-4 and 9-12, and the other village has 5-8. It can be quite a long bus ride depending n where you live and what grade you’re in.

Drove, because they went to private schools not the neighborhood public schools. We were kind of forced into private schools by our need for before and after school care. Only cost us about $20 a week more per child that just before and after school care alone would have cost.
