How did you first hear of Michael Jackson's cardiac arrest/death?

I just happened to log-in and read it right here. It was just as the news came in that he had suffered a cardiac arrest and was in UCLA Medical Centre, then I followed the updated news on newsites.

Later on, I watched the BBC live-feed until they announced he had "officially" died.

Turned on my computer and it was in the headlines on my home page.. The rest I read here on the DIS..

Learned about FF here - wasn't even on the headline page.. :(

It was yesterday and I've already forgotten. I think it was on the early edition of the evening news. They were reporting he was in a coma. Katie Curic broke in to broadcasting and announced he was dead.

Turned on the TV about 6:50 last night and Katie Couric was just updating on the headlines of the day and mentioned that two entertainers had died.....I knew about Farrah Fawcett at that point, but MJ was a shock to hear about.

I was trying to find The Weather Channel, because my DD and I were just caught in a crazy lightning storm. It was quite scary and I was trying to see what was going on. I turned it on to CNN instead by accident. I thought I read it wrong.

I was flipping channels and FOX news had Live footage of the street front of UCLA Medical Center (which I recognised from having lived in L.A.) blocked off with police cars. I thought it was some bank robbers holed up and they had them cornered. Worded on the bottom of their screen was "Michael Jackson dead." And I thought "Michael Jackson-who?" because it was unfathomable that it was THE Michael Jackson we all know.

Then I switched to CNN which had announced MJ had been brought in under cardiac arrest. NOT quite the same as being dead, as he could have still been able to be revived. I figured, that's FOX news for you, :sad2: pulling the trigger too quickly, without real confirmation. MSNBC has the same cautious story as CNN.

It wasn't until the L.A. Times (a credible news source,) had confirmed death on MSNBC, that I knew.

My uncle sent out a text message saying MJ was in cardiac arrest. After that I put CNN on and left it on untill 11pm!!!!!!

I was watching a show on E! TV & a reporter interrupted the show to tell the news. Even though the other news channels were not confirming death, I knew it was true :(

I know alot of people do not cite E! & TMZ as reliable news sources but, as far as only entertainment news goes, I think they are the most reliable.

I read it here first. And then I followed the link to TMZ and burned up the internet checking LA Times, KTLA, KFWB..... anything local to LA I could think of.

My son was on the computer ans yelled down that MJ was dying. I was like, "yeah, what else is new. He's ALWAYS dying." And Josh was all, "No, seriously, cardiac arrest, not breathing, the whole nine yards. We then put on FOX and after a while, the networks were confirming it one by one. I was watching the TV and Josh was on the computer and we were yelling up and down the stairs comparing rumors.

I was on the freeway and heard on the radio that he was in the hospital. By the time I got home and turned on HLN he had died.

I was coming out of church and my MIL told me MJ had died, I couldn't beleive it, I was so suprised. :sad1:

My friend called me and it was the first thing out of her mouth. For some reason I thought of someone else first then I realized who it was.

TMZ.com

I went on there to look for Speidi news and say that MJ had been taken to hospital, I didnt think much about it till my friend text me and said he was dead.

I'm in L.A. time, so I was at my desk at work and down the hall someone asked about Michael Jackson. I said what about him? And then everyone crowded the hallways and I was on TMZ faster than you can shake a stick.

I saw it on the NFL network during their show "Total Access" that recap's the events of the day in the football world (and sometimes in the real world). I'm still stunned over it.

Ds was on the computer and got an IM about it. He asked me if I had heard anything about Michael Jackson dying. We both thought it was a rumor. He went to TMZ and sure enough there is was.
