Thanks to so many people for voting! It does look like there are a goo dnumber of people feeling disappointed in WDW for various reasons. Not the majority, but a large enough number that it's definitely significant.

I especially feel bad for 1st timers who come back disappointed :(

The majority of first timers so far have said it was better than expected, and only 3 1st timers so far have voted "disappointed." With 80% of voters so far saying it was better than prior visits/better than expected, or as good as prior visits/as good as expected, that tends to counter most of the threads here. Especially since those that are vocally disappointed would probably be more likely to vote.

I've debated around about voting on this poll and obviously I decided to go ahead. I voted other, because I can't say I was disappointed in our last trip. I did notice that we rode less rides and the standby lines were longer, earlier in the day. I'm at WDW mainly for the rides, not to shop or people watch. Well the rides and Food and Wine Festival.

That was why I made a poll, I do think people who are disappointed in something take the time to voice their opinions moreso than people who are satisfied. I've been on the DISBoards a looooong time and the overall tone seems to be much more negative than it used to be. So I was genuinely curious as to whether DISer's aren't enjoying WDW anymore with all the changes from this year.

While it was much better than my last trip (because of reasons other than Disney, I had health issues and a tragedy in my home town in December of 2012 (I live in Newtown, CT) but I went in July and overall it was every bit as good as past trips.

Also, not all of the disappointment may have been from the changes... some could be because of weather or who they went with, etc. Just like not all the positives are because of the changes. :)

The fact that this poll even exist should tell you something about the current state of WDW

I need a "some parts better, some parts worse" choice. The time of year was incredible for crowds (Labor Day weekend and then in parks on 9/4 &5)so that was better, but that also saved our trip from the horror of FP+ limitations.(that was worse) We also attended out first MNSSHP on 9/1 and THAT was the highlight of our trip. We did stay off-site to save $ to allow for MNSSHP..our condo at WH was $310 total for the week :worship:We accomplished less than the norm doing our same commando style with such low crowds that in previous trips. We did hit some time sucking rain tho...the kind that closes rides so I do add that in the mix. I think tho , if we ever go back, that it would be to do a hard ticket party again for crowd control and no FP+ limits..and as much as I like the heat, and long park hours of summer, I loved seeing MK in it's fall decor and would pron head back that time of year again. That first week of September was amazing:thumbsup2 Another bummer was all the construction walls...:rolleyes2 I know updates need to be done but so soon after having Fantasyland walled off, and AK, just no way to ignore it.

I agree to a point, but then there are all the posts about how busy it is right now and how it is getting busier every year. That there are no 'slow' times any more. They must be doing something right because not only are people still going but more are going.

Does not mean that things are 'perfect' (I know nothing is), or that people don't have a right to be upset about the changes that make their vacation worse... but there are ALOT of people outside the DIS that seem to not be that effected by the change.

So unfortunately until they see a decline in attendance we will continue to have these conversations. Which I enjoy, I like hearing everyone option and stories... good and bad.

And if you look at the votes, by far, the overwhelming majority say their trips have either been as good or even better than past trips.

Overall our trip was very good. Everything disney including the magic bands and fast passes were good. My only complaint was the transportation. It took forever to get anywhere from the GF. You'd think what they charge they would have a faster more reliable means to get to the parks. I really enjoy being there.

We went in May and our trip was just as magical as any of our past trips. We were planning on not returning to WDW in 2015, not because of everything going on, but we wanted to take a trip that was non Disney with some friends of ours. Well, a few months after our trip, I got bit by the bug and wanted to start planning a trip again. Low and behold I have a trip planned for my DD13, DD11, and I in early March while DH stays home (I have been wanting to do a girls only trip and he thought this was a perfect opportunity to do so). Now we are still going on a non Disney trip with our friends in June, but my girls and I just had to have our Disney fix too :goodvibes.

What is it you think it tells you?

There have been a lot of changes in the past year. The question of how well its working for everyone isn't a sign something's terribly wrong or right.

We loved our Aug 14 trip. So much so that for the first time ever we are going back again in the same year. DH and I are going back in Dec.

I can only say that I am not surprised that the folk who continuously and incessantly complain about how FP+ has somehow sucked the joy out of Disney and how no one should ever go now because Disney continues to go downhill and is just soooo baaaad.... turn out to be a very small (yet somehow very vocal) minority. :rolleyes2

Technically, I was there at the end of December/beginning of January timeframe but we stayed offsite and they were testing FastPass+ at AK during that time. We were there during the busiest time of the year and we still managed to have an awesome trip. We didn't mind FastPass+ and having to go to a kiosk as we weren't onsite didn't bother us. While I admit that I feel like my next trip will have to be more planned out than ever before (picking Fastpasses prior to even getting there), I think that overall your vacation is what you make of it. If you go into it being negative about something, it will ruin your trip. Sure, we've certainly have had hiccups on our vacations but Disney has been one of my favorite places to vacation and I don't think no matter what they do that will ever change. I may not like some of the things they put in place but my trips have always been magical in one way or another.

4 trips in 2014 and all were as good or better than previous trips. Every trip is different, and my touring style has changed over the years, but I continue to travel primaily during less crowded times of the year, so these changes have had no impact on our fun. :goodvibes

Our trip was better. Loved how everything worked out. From the Fastpasses, to the MDE, to the magic bands for storing everything and paying for everything, to hanging out at the pool, to the inlaws deciding to join us, to best of all....Strollerless. :rotfl2:
