How comfy are the beds at POR?

We have never had a problem w/ the beds at PO-R... of course, we are usually to tired to care. I haven't woken up w/ a backache, though!

I didn't have any problems when I stayed there last year but many of the rooms are either about to be refurbished or been refurbished so I hope that someone responds who has stayed in a refurbished room with new mattress.

Hi ssatterly,

When I was at POR last year I think my husband thought I was a bit nuts. I was down there on my own and everynight when I'd call him I'd rave about the bed! I have no idea why it was so good it was just about the most comfy bed I ever slept in! I like them rather on the hard side and the sheets were great... they really seemed to "breathe". I moved to AKL for my last two days and I really wanted to go back to POR and that bed! I was in 1816. It was a great room, Alligator Bayou, corner room so two windows and so close to the main buildings I could almost see them. I want that room again when I go down in October! It was a standard view but I could still see the river. Ask for it but not in October... I want it! *smiles*

Enjoy!

we were there in mid july and the bed was an issue for me all week. it was "broken down" on the edges, its where people sit when they wake up and a lot of the time when you are in a room with limited seating. i felt like i was going to roll off onto the floor all the time. also why cant they buy sheets that stay tucked in so your not all wrapped up in them in the morning. your right about needing refurb the carpet was bad also. we looked past all this because we love this resort but fussy people would no doubt have been at the desk complaining.

At any WDW I always had problems with the beds. They are very firm. (Hard)
I never stayed in a resort that wasn't. I think CSR was the worse though. I even doubled up the comforters and slept on them on the floor thinking that may be softer. It was pretty much the same.
I think it just depends on what you are use to.
I always anticipated hard beds to sleep on at WDW. And just got use to that. (DH prefers a hard bed.)
My main complaint about the Riverside bed was the bed frame.
I do not know if they had a smaller mattress than they should on the bed, or what. But I cracked my leg and knee too many times on the wood frame. It is slightly decorative and sticks out further than the bed. I think if they had larger mattresses that would not happen.

Good luck! :wave2:

I have never had a problem with the beds - I sleep really well while I'm there and so does DH.
