Anyone else completely freak out before making their ADRs? I can make mine next week and I feel like I'm about to lose it! :worried: We're taking my parents for their first time at Christmas and I want everything to be perfect. (Not exactly, literally perfect, but you KWIM.) I know I don't need to stress so much about it, but I can't seem to stop myself. Do we just eat breakfast in our rooms every day and not cut into touring time with a breakfast in a park? (Then I worry about booking a breakfast in a park before it opens, only to have Disney change the hours on me.) Should we do some TS lunches as opposed to all TS dinners? Where should we eat on Christmas Eve? What if I can't get the restaurants I want? I don't even have back-ups! :scared:

I need to take a pill...seriously.

PS-Those were all rhetorical questions, BTW. I don't really need someone to answer them for me. Well, I wouldn't say no if someone did magically have all the answers for me. :wizard:

Take a look at the menus on allears.net and pick resturant's that serve food tht your parents would enjoy. Are you planning on taking a break during the day or staying a the parks? If I was taking a break, I would have TS dinners and a lighter lunch. After lunch I would go back to the room to swim, rest or nap then return to the park before dinner and stay until closing. We normally do not eat breakfast everyday. We usually grab a pastry in the parks or bring pasteries from home so we don't waste time in the mornings before the parks get too busy. If you plan to stay in the parks all day, I might do some TS for lunch as a nice break to get out of the crowds and to rest our feet. As for Christmas Eve dinner, I would recommend as special treat and go to a 2 ts credit dinner such as cali grill, jiko or narcossess.

I know what you mean. My least favorite part about going to WDW is planning everything 6 months out. Because not only do you have to make ADRs 6 months out or run the risk of getting a bad time or not getting a restaurant you want, but then you must plan which parks on which days so you know where you will be TO get an ADR! And then Disney always likes to switch things around. I've changed almost half of my ADRs since making them in March, and have been able to get mostly what I want now so don't freak if you change your mind!

I know your questions are rhetorical but when I went with my parents, we liked to have late dinners to end the day and wind down. We didn't really want to stop for our TS lunches. And I hate eating breakfast in the room, I think it's a drag to eat cereal when there are some great breakfast places out there, even QS options!

Have fun!!! :thumbsup2

I would make sure to have a back up for Christmas Eve when you go to book - restaurant get full fast :scared1: I was a hostess at a TS restaurant and certain holidays were a nightmare for us - non-stop full-tilt boogie madness!

Most peole booked at the TS in their hotel - good idea if you just want to get away from the park crowds.

You also mentioned eating bfast in your room so as not to cut into touring time. How about booking early - you get into the parks before everyone else and it wont take that much time away. Holiday season is a good time to start your park day early :thumbsup2 If you do character bfast it might save you time since you wont have to look for characters and stand in line to get a pic.

Oh and I think we are all in the same boat - I still have 4 months before I can even make my ADRs and I am going slightly bonkers already ;)

First Breathe
Second its not that bad
I made my ADR's 180+10 and i am just fine, slight twitch when the system was down on June 7th but i am good now

Third don't overcomplicate it by trying to PERFECT it you know the restaurants that are hard to get and the ones you wnat to eat at so book those first and use the others as fill ins.

fourth book Early bfasts in the park to get in early

have fun

I have seen TOO many people get turned away at TOO many Disney restaurants not to get my ADR's in place well in advance. :thumbsup2 For me, half of the Disney experience is the dining, and I am not eating a bunch of counter service while I'm there! popcorn:: So while you probably won't know exactly what you are going to be in the mood for that particular day, it's always good to have a plan in place. Then at least you know you will eat SOMETHING. :thumbsup2
