Hello everyone. I've been seeing threads regarding the klm code but I'm not sure how to get it. It sounds like a great deal. I'm trying to find a good rental car deal for June 7 - 16. I'm going to need an suv or minivan since we are a family of 6. Any help is appreciated!

They never asked for my klm number, but I signed up for one (free) just in case

Thank you. What rental company did you book your rental car through? Do they just need a cc to reserve or do they ask that you pay for the whole thing when you reserve? Thanks again for the code!

This code us just for national. You don't need a cc when booking.
Keep in mind that for this particular code, if you want to modify or cancel, you'll have to call them. But it's a great code. You can combine with a coupon if you have one (check Mousesavers, or if you belong to bus or Costco, or have the entertainment guide, etc). It also includes things that regular contracts don't - like insurance - I think....
I just checked the code for your dates. A 7 passenger minivan is coming in at $391. You should be able to find a coupon somewhere for another 30 or so off....

One more word of advice...
Go ahead and book this now! You can always cancel.
I booked mine months ago for Pres week, I got a mid size for a week for $209 total (after KLM code and $30 coupon). I just went to check the rate with code because I wanted to switch to a coupon that I didn't need to take to the counter....rate is now $454 with the KLM discount!
I am very glad I booked this early!

Sorry if this is a stupid question but where can I enter the coupon code? I tried to book on their site but I didn't see where I could put the coupon code :(

I'm a dummy. I think I just found it. Thank you soooooo much for all your help!

Okay I have another dumb question. If I reserve it now and then find a coupon code later, will they let me use that coupon code even after the reservation has already been made?

No, you'll have to cancel and rebook.
I ran into trouble with that myself. I cut out the wrong coupon from my entertainment book - it was a 2012 book, so I threw it away recently. I wanted to modify the reservation to take that coupon off and put a different one on, but I was told that if I modify, I'd wind up paying the current discount for my dates, which is over $200 more!
He told me to hold on to my coupon and explain it at the counter....

Anyone that uses the code should signup for the Flying Blue frequent flyer program. Flying Blue is the shared frequent flyer program for KLM (Royal Dutch Airlines) and Air France, which are both part of the SkyTeam alliance (along with Delta).

Signup is free, and if they award airline miles, then you'll have a place to put them :).

Plus, it is good to have access, as Flying Blue has better award seat availability for Delta than Delta does!

Did I mention it is free?

Oh ok that's good to know. I'm just afraid that if I cancel then rebook that the minivan that I want will be all out. I guess I'll have to book a new one first then cancel my old reservation. So it sounds like they'll honor your new coupon code at the counter? If so then that's good. I would hate to pay $200 more.

Earlier when you looked for my dates you said you saw that it was $391 right? I just looked and it's now up to $435. But at least now I know that if I find a better deal I can always cancel then book again.

I really just want to say thank you for helping me with this. I'm trying to save every way I can since this will be my family's first trip to Disney and for a family of 6 it's very expensive.

Thanks for the advice. I'll be signing up today :)

YOu are looking WAY too early for a good deal for a June rental. Your best deals will be found closer to your trip date. I never book until we are ready to leave. In fact I leave next week but I am not booking till tomorrow when the last minute rates are released.

For the last several years I have gotten my best deals 7-10 days before we leave.

Really? Can you give me an idea of what kind of a deal you get? I guess I just paranoid that I won't get a big enough car for my family since there's 6 of us. From the stuff that I've read people on these boards say that you can cancel and rebook when they find a better deal.

This is generally true, ut if you tried this for a minivan with National this week, you'd be in trouble.
It doesn't hurt to ave a good rate locked in early. As long as you're not paying for it, you can always book a better deal and cancel this one later.

I never find a better rate just before we leave. In some cases it might only be a 20 or 30 dollar difference but the last 3 trips at least it's been best at about 6 weeks out. And I check everywhere, right up until the last minute.

People on the August thread have found better deals in this past week than I have seen in a long time as well.
I know that may be your experience, I just wanted to point out that it doesn't hurt to look early and in my case, it's always paid off.
