How big of a hassle to be split parties between Poly Villas and VGF?

We have a VGF 2 Bedroom Villa reserved this summer and are now looking for additional accommodations for family joining us on vacation. Unfortunately there isn't anything available at VGF, but I can get 2 Studios at the Polynesian Villas for them to stay at. I checked for a Bungalow, but points there were way too high.
Any feedback on if this would be a big hassle? I know the Poly pool doesn't accept pool hopping, but they could always join us at GF pools. Other than that I think this might be OK.
Our other option would be to cancel VGF and book two 2 Bd Villas at AKV

Any feedback/suggestions?

Depends what you want to do on this vacation. The Poly DVC studios are on the other side of the Poly resort from VGF. I guess they can always come over and hang out in the 2bedroom. You can probably cook and eat there. Will the additional family needs 2 connecting studios? there's no guarantee on that.

Switching to AKV will not guarantee that you're close to each other. You'll be in the same resort, but you could end of on either end. The walk would probably be about the same as walking from Poly to VGF!

Hmmm, thanks for that. I guess I need to see how far way the Poly DVC Studios are from VGF. Does anyone how long of a walk it would be?
They will more than likely have a car, would that make it easier to get back and forth? (not sure how the parking lots align)

It would take more time to go to the parking lots and drive between the 2 resorts than just to walk- the walk from the Villas to the Main building at the Poly is less than 15 min when you are walking leisurely as adults. Someone running would be able to make it in 5 min. I believe the villa buildings are closer than the main Poly building to the GF Villas.

Actually the Villas are closer to the Ferry boat side...and there are three buildings, hopefully they will be in the same building...you were lucky to snag the two studios. I heard they are going fast.
