How bad is Disney World over the summer?

We traveled in 2013 at the end of August. I was really worried about the Heat and I am not going to lie it was insanely hot! BUT We traveled at the end of May on one trip it was the same kind of heat, drippy nasty, thick. The difference that I like about the end of August compared to May was the crowd levels. I rather stand in line for 15 mins in the heat than stand in line for 45 mins for the same ride. We are going again in August because we loved how light the crowds were. The worst day was at AK, between the heat and the smell form the animals we had to leave early. I would say plan ahead, bring tons of water, freeze the bottles over night so they are really cold for the next day. Take breaks, plan your lunches around the hottest part of the day. Enjoy the pool! It can be done, and still have a great time

It's hot. You will feel like you are melting.
We live in FL and won't go in the summer.

Honestly, I haven't felt that its been all that much hotter in August than it is at home (Philadelphia). Up here we get into the 90's quite often on summer days...same at Disney. What is different is that Disney doesn't usually get the cool down at night.

Also, I've always felt that the hottest time in Disney is late morning as opposed to mid-afternoon. While the temps go up during the afternoon, in the morning you still get that humidity burning off and breezes seem to often pick up in the afternoon.

Weather wise? My DH and SIL are strongly advising not to make a trip there during the summer. They said it will be so hot you'll feel like you're melting. We've never been to DW and are thinking we'll go in 2017. DH wants to go in the fall. I want to go in the summer. DH and I don't want to take our kids out of school, so the summer is the most logical time. But would we be miserable in the heat?

I refuse to go in the summer anymore.....to me it's just too hot. It depends on how well you do in the heat though....if it doesn't bother you then go for it!
