How are they different

I don't understand your title. What are you trying to compare?

Teppan Edo is the restaurant in Japan with the "Teppan Style" cooking. You sit at a large table for 8 which surrounds a hibachi grill. The chef stir fries your meal right in front of you. It is very entertaining and the food is delicious.
It is a must do for us each trip.
Enjoy

Sorry if I did not make sense. I guess there is two different restaurant's in Japan, Toyoko and Teppan Edo. I was just wondering which one is the one you described. You answered my question so thanks.

Teppan Edo is the one where they cook in front of you hibachi style. Tokyo Dining is the sit down meal where they bring the food to you. They're both in the same bulidng.

Teppan Edo is great. We really enjoyed it. The only think I heard people complain about is that they don't have fried rice as an option. In their defense though, i was told a million tiems that fried rice is a Chinese dish, not Japanese.

Teppan Edo is on our must do list every visit! The food is very good and the chef's are very entertaining!

I have to offer a contrary opinion of Teppan Edo. The food was pretty good and the chef was somewhat entertaining. However, if you are a fan of Japanese steakhouses, I think you will be disapointed. There is no fire (at least there wasn't when we went last week.) I understand that this may be so that small children won't be frightened, but it's part of the experience for me. Also, I am accustomed to soup and salad being included at this type of restaurant, and at Teppan Edo you would have to order them separately. I've been to at least five different non-Disney Japanese steakhouses between Atlanta and Greenville and enjoyed them all more than Teppan Edo. In the Japanese steakhouse genre, I can only give Teppan Edo 2.5 out of 5 stars.

Thanks for telling me this. We love going to Japanese steakhouse's. We try and go a few times a month. Now knowing the things I do, I think we will go somewhere else.
