Am heading down to WDW for a solo trip and was wondering about the restaurants below. I'm making a stop at the grocery store to pick up breakfast (oj & Nutragrain bars) & light lunch things (soup & crackers). Any opinions of the restaurants below would be appreciated.

Rose & Crown (dinner) (did this as part of the CP)
Concourse Steakhouse (lunch)
Casey's (quick dinner)
Whispering Canyon (lunch) kinda on the fence on this one.
California Grill (dinner) never been here before
Le Cellier (dinner)
1900 Park Fare (dinner)
Spoodle's (dinner)
50's Primetime (dinner)
Fresh @ Dolphin (lunch)
Crystal Palace (dinner)
Yachtsman Steakhouse (dinner)

Thanks for your help!! :jumping1:

Get off the fence about the Wispering Canyon. Its great. However we do love it for breakfast more than L or D.

We also love spoodles for breakfast.

Others to try are the Hoop Dee Doo Revue and the Sci-fi Dine-in.

We love 1900PF and 50's PTC!
CG was also great!
Didn't have a good experience at R&C but it wouldn't stop us from trying it again.
We had dinner at Concourse and it was good but nothing to write home about IMO.
Le Cellier and Yachtsman were just OK.
Haven't tried WCC, Spoodles, Fresh or CP for dinner only breakfast but we liked it alot.

HTH!

Had great meals at Rose and Crown, Casey's, and 1900 Park. Haven't tried the others but the Yachtsmans Steak House is on my list for "next time"! (Actually the next "next time" as I have all my PS's for this coming trip!).

At Rose and Crown I had the meat pie sampler and it was lovely!

I've eaten at Rose and Crown, 50's PT & Whispering Canyon- I enjoyed them all. I had the fish and chips at R&C and they were hot and crispy- didn't like the peas it came with but oh well. Service was A+ and we had a good time. 50's PT I had a turkey sandwich and the smores for dessert- YUMMY! Server was cute, but not obnoxious. Loved the kitch. Whispering Canyon is one of my favorite restaurants at the world- I have eaten there every time I have been to WDW- I love the Lodge so any excuse to go there is a valid one, and the food is great, and the service is a hoot. Try it, you'll like it. :D

Thanks to all who have commented so far. What about Cindy's vs. Concourse Steakhouse? Now that the CP has been redone, how is the food? What about Cape May Buffet? Is it good? How loud is it at WCC? Can you tell your server ahead of time that you are not interested in the antics, but would rather watch than participate? If a place is not on the list, where would you recommend dining? Please keep in mind that I'm a pretty picky eater and like just the basics.

Thanks again!!!!

Two of our must do's were on your list.

50's Prime Time (great for either lunch or dinner)

My DH loves their food and can't decide sometimes between the meatloaf or pot roast both include great greanbeans and creamy mash potatoes. My favorites include the Grilled Shrimp salad, Turkey sandwich with cranberry mayo, plus leave room for their great homemade desserts!

Yachtsman Steakhouse (best CM's, elegant atmosphere)

We always eat here on our last night. Our favorites include the Crab cakes, Caesar salad, Surf and Turf (DH's favorite), Aged Filets, Prime Rib, Fresh asparagus (my favorite), Mushroom caps and the best Creme Brulee ever.

i am not a fan of meat loaf normally but ptc's was really good ( order it out occasionally sometimes but never make it at home, go figure) and from I remember the rest of the menu is "comfort" type basics..and a plug for TRails end if you like buffets..same food mama used to make, well at least if she cooked for a few hundred people per meal(lol)

We enjoyed Fresh at the Dolphin for lunch 10/31. We sampled their offerings, and only the swordfish didn't please. Very good prime rib. The desserts were to DIE for, especially if you like chocolate, like I do!

Never Fresh before, although I have seen several good reviews lately. I like the 50's and usually get their fried chicken.

I think the only concerns I have are with the CG & CP. How flexible is the CG with meals? I mean, instead of Chopped Summer Vegetable Salad, Neuskes' Bacon, and Blue Cheese Dressing, can I just get plain mashed potatoes? Would it be better to go for just dessert?

Now that the CP has been redone, how is the dinner menu? Is the food good? Is it basically the same selection as before?

Finally, is it cheaper to buy some non-perishable food at home and mail it to the resort or just stopping at one of the grocery stores that TTC will stop at and buy it there?

Thanks for your help!!
