Are the touring plans in the Unofficial Guide to DL 2008 any good to follow? I would like some sort of plan when I go, but not be on a rigid schedule, has anyone used any of the plans in the book and liked them? They say they can save you up to 4 hrs. waiting in lines per day. Thanks for any input you can give me:flower3:

I have used them and they work well - but you could also see hydroguy's tips, or use Ridemax software for planning. Some kind of plan makes all the difference, but he baiscs are be there early and use fastpass!

Is that the one with funny plan names like "dumbo or die"? If so, I liked those when I was planning our very first trip.

I used the UG, Birbaum's book, and whatever else I could find (most recent editions ALWAYS) at the library. I know I used some message board or the other, but have NO clue what site it might have been back in prep for our Sept '05 trip.

But HydroGuy really has a ton of info in that post someone mentioned. Learning about fastpass and either going against the grain of the crowd (I remember that turning left instead of right made a ton of difference, since supposedly most people will turn right) or being to where the crowd is going but *first*, will lower the time you're going to wait. And being to the parks before they open, so you're in the front of the lines can also make a big difference.

We're in Anaheim now. We used the UG plans on Friday for Disneyland (although we switched up the 2 day plan to do the 2nd day first, so we could do our favorites the first day), then used the Universal one yesterday, then back to the 2nd day of the DL plan today with Magic Morning. I think the plans work great, and we do keep some flexibility so if we want to ride one ride twice in a row or skip one, we do. Even so, it keeps you ahead of the crowd for the most popular things. Most of the key tips are the same as you see on these boards -- get there early, ride the most popular rides first and then fill in with shows, parades, other things. But I like being able to pull out the guide if I need info while I'm in the parks, or for the little extra snark about the Disney experience.

i plan on rippingthe guide(s) out & dragging along;)

back when we 1st starting visiting WDW, they made things go well for us, now it's 2nd instinct...assume the same way for DL vets?

assume once Toy Story is open, it would segue to top of list in that park vs Soarin?
