How 7 Days with DCL Trumps 5 Trips to WDW~ Fantasy Eastern Caribbean, Oct 4-11

Is it weird to read a trip report for a cruise you were on? NOPE! I'm about to start writing mine and it's super fun to read other people's too.

Wasn't the Facebook group great? I think ours was the best ever. And we had the coolest shirts for sure. :-)

Sounds like a great start to your vacation!! But I have never heard of anyone driving past their vacation destination!!! What a hilarious story!

Looking forward to read more about your adventures!

Doh! for overshooting your destination! I love Cracker Barrel but never get to eat there anymore. Fried Okra is YUMMMY!

Stacey!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Life is good!!!

Loved the view and the room!

Kind of sucky that you guys added a few extra miles on to your trip - but glad that it didn't ruin the whole thing... And loved the photo as proof. Too cute!

Certainly - Quackattack can join us on our caravan... This is my thought... I"ll drive down to Chicago in my car... Pick up anyone I need to between here and there... As long as I don't exceed 5. ::yes:: Then in Chicago - we'll grab our 15 passenger van... Seriously - this last spring when Josh and I drove down to TN and we were doing Dismeets the whole way down... THis is exactly how I invision this trip. If necessary - we can rent another 15 passenger van... Disney or bust magnets on the back of the vans (Mo's mom is in charge of this)... We can all stay at All-stars and split those rooms up nice n' cozy... Tour the parks... Drink some drinks... Eat some food... Tour more parks... Eat more food. FLY home... Hahaha... OK - I"ll fly to Chicago and drive my car home... There's no way I could drive back to MN after all that driving down there and touring too... Unless I stayed a week at Mo's to recouperate?

I think it's a plan...

I LOVE STACEY!!!!

I will watch her entire show if I'm staying on property. Even though I've seen it 1249812497 times lol. :rotfl:

Too funny about driving past Port Canaveral. Maybe it wasn't so funny then, but you can look back on it now and laugh.

I love Stacey! What a great bonus. What hotel did you stay at? I'm trying to get some suggestions for our cruise next year as we are planning on staying at Port Canaveral the night before.

baaaaaaaaaaaa ha ha ha ha ha ha

:car: Just keep driving... and driving... and Driving.. Then right PAST!!! what a great memory!!!

I like Cracker Barrel..

Your Hotel looks like a lot of FUN even with the half ripped sticker on the wall!!! :rotfl2:

All joking aside it looks like fantastic! Love the pool too! Then of all things STACY?!?! can't you be any happier?!?!? :cloud9:

Back to "E" I have goose bumps for this adorable little girl. 1st to be adopted by such an adoring family. Then to be able to go on a DISNEY CRUISE? Oh she has to be in Seventh Heaven!!! What a treat for a foster child!!!

Perfection all around!

OOPSi on going a bit out of your way for your hotel for the evening. Hey, if nothing else, it was great story telling for the TR.

I'm glad you all got some food in you...no fun to be starving.

I would have turned the channel immediately. I am so NOT a Stacey fan. :duck:

A nice room that looks very spacious and a great view. :)

So funny that you guys drove on past where you needed to be! :rotfl: I'm glad that it didn't ruin anything and you guys were all still able to make the most of it. I'm telling you, you guys look like you could make ANYTHING fun!!

The hotel looks nice. That pool looks great right about now, but I would also need the warm weather that would come with it being in FL.

STACEY! I love Stacey TV, so cool that it was on in your room! :thumbsup2

Stacey!!!!! How fun! That room looks huge......compared to Disney rooms at least

I love Cracker Barrel for the store, the food is just so so in my experience. Bradey loves their fried okra

Sorry you "overshot" your destination, but look at the fun extra memories you have!

That room was definitely bigger than anywhere we have stayed at Disney. It was a great place to stay the night before our cruise.

Cracker Barrel is definitely a matter of taste. They are southern through and through (ie: bacon grease, butter, lard...all manner of FAT! :rotfl: )

Oh we had fun retelling that story of our drive on the cruise. :rotfl2:

SO not weird. In fact, be sure to come over here and link up your report when you start it, because I am totally going to read it! :thumbsup2

We definitely had the BEST fb group ever! I am so glad our group page is still active, so much fun! And our T-shirts ROCKED. We got so many compliments on them, even from CM's! :cool2:

Yes, it was quite an adventure. We just kept driving past signs and exits. I kept wondering if we had a clue where we were going. I finally asked...guess I should have asked earlier. :rotfl2:

We actually live in the town where Cracker Barrel originated. My first job after moving here in 1998 was at the corporate offices. They were a great company to work for...and the disounts were fantastic! :thumbsup2

The kids and I were a bit disappointed because Stacey no longer says "Test Track Baby!" That was our favorite Stacey quote! :lmao:

I love your master plan. Know what we should add to it? (You know, to complicate the whole thing just a bit. :rotfl:) Food Network restaurant stops!!!! :hyper:

I LOVE STACEY!!!!

I will watch her entire show if I'm staying on property. Even though I've seen it 1249812497 times lol.

We love her too. We were beyond excited to see her in Pt. Canaveral...yeah, we have seen it a time or two as well. :rolleyes1

Oh, we totally laughed about it. We were in no hurry, so it was just funny, even then. :thumbsup2

We stayed at the Country Inn and Suites. It was very nice...and there were a ton of cruisers staying there. There were three ships sailing out the day ours did. :goodvibes You must do what we did the night before the cruise, too... coming up in my next update. popcorn::

Joining in love your report so far!

Thanks! Glad yiou are enjoying it. I do enjoy writing these reports...keeps the magic alive just a little bit longer. :goodvibes

Yes....we got to see a lot of the Florida Turnpike that day. :rotfl:

I know, right?!? Some kid either did not like that particular wall decal, or liked it so much they wanted to make off with it. :lmao: So, it WASN'T Disney...but it was still nice, and it was clean. :thumbsup2

Mo, I thought the same thing. There is NO telling what that little girl has already experienced in her short life (not good stuff, I am certain). I love that we got to be a part of this magical trip with her. She truly is a sweet little girl, and so much fun. :goodvibes

It is definitely a great story to add a little fun to the TR, glad it happened. :rotfl: :rotfl2:

No flame throwing here. Stacey is obnoxious, for sure...part of the reason why I like it. :lmao:

It truly was a fantastic room...but nothing compared to where we would be for the next week. :rolleyes1

To be honest, our friends that went with us bring out the best in us. They are such wonderful people, and such a joy to travel with! We look forward to many trips together in the future. We even have a few in the works that do not involve Disney. :rolleyes1

Let me tell you, last night I was in my sweats with a blanket and a runny nose...I was longing for that tropical weather again BIG TIME!!! :sad2:

After getting settled in our rooms the kids wanted to head to the pool right away. Unfortunately for them, I had other plans... I needed a NAP. After never finding comfort enough in that van seat, Mama was running on no sleep from the night before. :faint: Brian had a bit of school work he needed to get done before we boarded the ship the next day, so our children were just out of luck on swimming right away. Yes, we are mean parents, get over it. :p We did allow them to watch television in their room while they waited for me to take a nap. They were totally fine with this since we cancelled our satellite service a few months ago. :thumbsup2

After getting some rest, it was finally time. They had been waiting, and being very nice about allowing me to rest, so we changed into swim suits and headed to the pool. :cool1: Here are a couple of hazy photos for you since I did not realize right away that the lens on my camera was fogged up after going from room with AC out into the FL heat...

Kiddie Pool:

The big pool was not heated...aka, shockingly COLD!!!! :scared1: I decided right then that I would not be partaking in the water festivities with the kids. I am a wimp. I like my pool water almost as warm as bath water. :rolleyes2 The kids decided to choose another water activity:

It was a very nice hot tub, but too hot for me. Gee, do I sound like Goldilocks? Too cold, too hot... :lmao: They stayed in the hot tub for a while, then they ventured back over to the pool to cool off. Then... they started whining that they were hungry. We had had a BIG breakfast at Cracker Barrel at like 10 that morning, and dinner was going to be BIG. So, Brian and I just had an unspoken expectation that we probably wouldn't have lunch...guess we forgot to clue the kids in on that expectation. The most frustrating part for us was that after all the build up of wanting so badly to swim....we were only down there for an hour. :crazy2:

So, we trudged BACK upstairs to where Brian was TRYING to get some school work done. I had the kids start taking showers, and we decided to have a light lunch... I ordered Papa John's delivery. :thumbsup2 Didn't get a picture of lunch, but just imagine a large pepperoni pizza, because that is what we had. ::yes::

The rest of the afternoon was spent just lazying around the room, watching some TV. This is a short update, but just hold on... my next update will be fun, and have lots of photos. :thumbsup2

I just realized that I didn't post comments on the post before this one. Oh you poor things...you went waaaaay outta the way before you realized it. At least everybody was good sports about it and quackattack still got a kiss from the hubby.

You mean old Mama you making those poor kids have to watch television while you took a nap. What in the world were you thinking? Oh yeah, you were thinking about SLEEP! I bet that you needed it after that long ride.

I've done that whole thing where I figure there wouldn't be a need for lunch since we ate a big breakfast and had plans for a big dinner. Didn't work out for me either. :lmao:

ummm foggy lens? NO ALLOWED! there is a cleaning cloth on the Jiminy bag! Bad Connie. :rotfl2:

Glad you got some sleep.. I cannot agree more you need that nap IN A BED after a long ride!!! :thumbsup2 yet everyone's requests are being met like food... Yeah those little midgets do demand food sometimes. and i have NO idea where they put it..

I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THE SHIP!!!

Oh yes, the hazy pictures from AC to 190% humidity. I think we've all been there. :lmao::lmao:

The pool looks like, as does the hot tub. I am with you though...I don't like my pool too cool or my hot tub too hot.

A light lunch and tv sounds like a relaxing afternoon to me.

Made it here finally! Sounds like a fun time in the big van.

Oh, and I'm reserving my spot now in the big 15 seat van! You guys will probably pass right near my house on the way down, you can just pick me up on the side of the road. :rotfl:

Sounds relaxing, the pool looks great. I would have been in there with the kids. Being from up north.....any pool in FL is heated to me :)

I'm with Mo......I can't wait to see the ship!!!

Awesome update, foggy lens n all.

The pool looks heavenly... Can we call you Goldilocks now?

Can't wait to see the shipp!

OK, you are in charge of all the food stops on the way... Food network sounds fabulous to me, as long as there is red meat involved, I am good. ;)

D~

I, too, would've not been swimming in the pool. I hate cold water.

I can't wait to hear about your evening plans.
