How 1 trip turned to 2 and now turning into 3!! Update Pg 40 Days 3, 4 and 5!!

Alright...to not leave you without an update (and because I want to share my bargins), I'm going to work a bit more on the TR and go back to add the rest of the Halloweend pictures over the weekend. Hopefully this is ok with everyone.

The morning after the Halloween party, we'd had reservations at Hollywood and Vine. On the way back to the hotel the night before, Dan and I agreed that we'd skip that ADR since it was at 8:00 and let the kids sleep in.

It seemed like a good plan but the kids were up basically at the same time so it didn't much help anyone out.

We'd also debating just scrapping the park idea this morning but decided to wait and see what the morning brings for us.

So Saturday morning came and the boys slept in until about 6. Daddy really tried to keep them quiet until about 7 but it didn't much matter. Once I'm up and the kids are up, I generally can't go back to sleep.

We all got ready for the parks this morning and I let the boys pick out their clothes. We did this pretty much every morning, or let one of them pick out what they were wearing, and the rest of us would dress around it.

Corbin had been wanting to ride the tram instead of in his stroller but really we'd gotten good spots and didn't need to mess with folding the strollers up and everything. Grandma took him on this morning while Daddy and I took Carter and the strollers to the front of the park. He only beat us by a minute or so!

We decided to hit DHS to see Lightening McQueen and try to get fast passes for TSM. It was still EMH when we got to DHS and they were very specific about showing our resort ID several times heading into the park. Not sure why as this was the first experience being asked this many times.

Just through the gates, I got stopped by a CM who asked for my email address if I was willing to complete a survey about our trip. I LOVE doing things like this and of course I agreed! (more on this later!)

We grabbed a map and times guide inside the park to see when McQueen would be out since we had just seen him the other night and knew where he would be. We had a bit of time since it was still EMH and we decided to head to TSM before it got busy and we couldn't get a FP.The park was VERY empty though-by our standards-which was pretty nice!

The posted wait time was 40 minutes (I think-I've got a picture someplace!) so we all quick grabbed fast passes and headed for the line. Dan didn't think the boys would make it but I insisted. No more than getting in the line, Corbin had to go to the bathroom. Since he'd just went at the hotel, we knew that this was an "I don't want to wait in this line" bathroom trip and we made him hold it.

The wait time was not that long and I'm glad we decided to get in the line as well as getting the FPs. The line itself is very cool and Corbin was very excited about seeing the HUGE Candy Land game while we were waiting since this is one of his favorite games!

Hopefully this will work and we can continue! I'll finish the waiting in line here then go to a "new" post!

We soon enough go to the point in line that I'd read about and really wanted to see-Mr. Potato Head!!! Corbin liked him but covered his ears none the less-it really wasn't that loud.

Corbin took a minute to point to Grandma's house on the map for her as a reminder where she was going back to the next day!

After all the waiting, we were finally ALMOST THERE!!!

I just have to decide if I want to spend all of our time at BC or do a split stay between there and POR. I'm just having a hard time swallowing spending all of that money on a hotel. DH said just do it. Says I'm too cheap. He says I should squeek when I walk
Thanks for offering to let me hijack some of your pictures of the Halloween party. I might take you up on that. I scrapbook and it made me sick that I wouldn't have any pictures of that awesome parade.
Good luck with the adoption process. I think it can get pretty involved. But, like you said, you do have time and whatever happens, happens. How's the planning for December going? I'm still quite jealous that you get to go so many times this year. And so close together.

Good luck with the planning for next year! I don't know if I could do a split stay or not...I guess it would depend on how long we were going to be there for. I totally agree-if I wouldn't have gotten a deal on AKL-especially CL-we couldn't have done it! I've never been to either resort so I can't sway your vote at all! Be sure to let us know what you decide!!

I scrapbook as well so totally understand about the pictures! I'll get some more up soon!!

Thanks for the well wishes with the adoption. I'm still going back and forth with do we *want* another baby or should we be doing more to try and find another family for them to consider. We're a "happy family" right now but then I think about how much fun Corbin had when Carter was a baby and how much Carter loves babies. Of course, then I think about driving to MI for visits with two kids and think I'm crazy to try and do it with three! I think about a lot of different things and just keep praying...we'll see what happens I guess. I'll keep ya'll posted for sure!

Dec planning....HA! I don't know that I would go this close together again without having more stuff done before our first trip. I haven't had nearly enough time to devote to December as I should be leaving in just 72 days! We're still debating the regular vs deluxe dining plans. I need to sit down and see where we'll eat and what it's going to cost to see which one's better really. It's much harder to plan not knowing exactly when our next trip is going to be. Sept was easy since I knew we'd be back in Dec. With so many "unknowns" it's like I'm trying to fit "everything" in this trip and I know that's crazy!

One thing I *really* want to do in Dec (praying for warm weather!) is to be able to relax by the pool with the boys and let them play for a bit since we really didn't do that this time and that's one of their most favorite things to do!

Alright...back to work...or at least pretending today

Hey All....here's my post from the dining plan board...can't leave it all up to them right???? You guys get imput too!

Can someone please check my math and give me some advice?? I want to make sure I'm not screwing my family with these decisions. Since I'm the "researcher" and "planner", I've got to have my facts right! I've very new to the dining plan and still pretty new to Disney.

I'll start off with my current ADRs...

12/13 Sci-Fi-meal only as $58
12/14 CRT-meal only as $86
Plaza-meal only as $42
12/15 Nothing right now
12/16 Princess Storybook Dining-meal only as $59
12/17 Nothing now.

We'll be staying off property 12/12 (driving down after work) and checking out on 12/17.

Here's where my begging will begin

If my calculations are correct, for MEALS ONLY if we ordered the most expensive thing on the menu at each location, the cost would be $285. We have the DDE/TIW (Tables in Wonderland) which would take 20% off most meals bringing the total to $228 for MEALS ONLY. I would figure $20/day for snacks for a total of $100. That would be $328 for MEALS and SNACKS.

If my dining plan numbers are correct, the DDP is $38/day for adults and $10/day for kids. The total/day for the DDP ONLY is $58/day for a total of $232. This would include 4 TS, 4 CS and 4 snacks correct???

In this instance, it's better for us to use the dining plan correct? Or am I wrong because we had to pay for CRT when booking correct? That would leave me all four credits to use and be able to book another TS meal if needed to use all of the credits. Thanks to the DIS for reminding me of this-I was thinking I had to use 2 TS credits for this!

It looks to me like the DDP is the way to go for this trip. Just need a little confirmation that that's the "right" way to go for us. I know it's a very personal decision but just running the numbers, it's best right?

Also, I've read that the Plaza is NOT included on the DDP-that would leave me yet another credit to use (or try to swap something else in place of the Plaza). Any suggestions about other places to try?? I'd love to go back to TH-it was amazing on our last trip in Sept. We are in Toledo, Sylvania actually. My DH travels to Akron often for work. We turned to heat on last night. I didn't want to, but it was cold! Nice to talk to someone else from Ohio.

It was cold this morning-my car said 54! I know that's not too terrible living in MI for 25 years and I cannot wait to call people in January from the beach while they're burried in snow! (not nice I know but still fun for me!) We're going to MI this year for Christmas but I made Dan commit to having people come here next year. Either they'll agree and go for no gifts, just traveling or we'll be here by ourselves! I can't wait to walk on the beach on Christmas day!

I hope to have a better update up soon! I think I'm going to order my photopass CD this weekend so I'm trying to be kind of slow so I can get the CD and include those pictures too!

Well your not to far away. We been to the Toledo zoo a couple of time, it was very nice. We turned on heat also last nite I heard that there a airport near Toledo that has low fare on flights to Orlando, do you know any thing about this. Of course you can count on pictures. Hopefully Santa will swing by early and I'll get some new memory cards or something to keep them on I'll take my laptop like I did this time. It was nice to be able to get a jump on the beginning of the TR while we were there so I didn't forget the little details. I go back and look at what I've done and think about more and more things...I'm going to have to go an edit or something!

I'm really considering waking up at Disney....Happy Birthday to Me! All depends on what happens with the adoption and house. Just waiting to see what works out at this point. Hopefully we'll have already committed to the house so we won't have to worry about that and will be putting some money away. It would also be nice to get an idea on the adoption-I've got to do some more research in regards to how much it's going to cost....that might be a deal breaker as terrible as that sounds. With the economy crapping out, it's going to be harder to swing things around and be as flexible as we once were able to be. Just keep praying I guess...that's what we're doing!

More Pictures Uploading as we speak....well type and read!

Fair warning....I'm in a VERY weird mood today....kind of crabby and fiesty yet lots of energy at the same time. I got to "sleep in" until 7 which was good. This weekend is our "plantation" (development) driveway sales. Had I known about it sooner (got the postcard on Tuesday night!) I could be raking in some SERIOUS dough today! There's been constant traffic through the neighoborhood. Dan took the boys out for a little bit in the stroller. The only thing they came home with was another little car....do we not have enough already????

I, on the other hand, have had my downloaded songs on all morning and have been rocking out while trying to get the house clean and organized. Whenever Dan goes on trips like this, I go into a "nesting" phase and clean the house top to bottom. The "bonus" this time is because of the yard sales today, they're going to have a truck picking up donations at 3 today at our pool. We've had a pile of stuff in our garage pretty much since we moved in and started unpacking that we've been meaning to donate so great timing for us!

Alirght....back to more picture uploading and cleaning!

If you've been lurking or posting, I've added more MNSSHP parade pictures as well as HalloWishes and some of the characters in their costumes. I think they were all on page 5 that I had to add to them.

If I read everything correctly...I left y'all hanging in line at TSM. I'll give you a quick report of the ride (our first ride!) then I've got to get stuff wrapped up for Dan to leave for class at 5:30 tomorrow morning and drive to MD.

So...it was finally our turn to hop on TSM. Corbin was VERY exctied because we really don't let him "shoot" things at home-that is one thing that he can only do at Disney! (of all things right???)

The wait really wasn't all that bad-lots of things to look at and keep the kids busy! But finally, it was our turn!!

I only had to show Corbin once what he had to do to make it work and he was ready to go!

The ride itself was great-the games were SOOOO much fun and a million times better than the Buzz ride in MK. The movement between games-VERY jerky. I was worried about the kids. I just got Corbin ready when the game was done so he kind of knew it was coming before we flew over to the next game.

It was a tough match up, but I managed to beat Corbin....this time!

Daddy and Corbin went potty when we got off the ride and Grandma, Carter and I hung out at the little shop across the street. Carter found this and wanted to try it on:

Soon enough the boys were back and we were on our way. Carter started screaming as we passed by a little stand where the meet and greet was for Lightening McQueen. He'd seen Crush so we had to stop. Corbin noticed that on the other side were Cars. He quickly started to search and see if there were any he didn't already have!

We headed over to try and grab something CS for breakfast. Corbin was in a picture taking kind of mood so he snapped up the chance to get his picture taken here (notice the posing with the arms and everything!!):

We also passed the Sci-Fi on the way to the ABC Commisary so the boys stopped to play in a car for a minute.

We finally made it to breakfast. The adults all got the breakfast bagel-it had eggs, cheese and sausage on a bagel. The bagel was VERY chewy but not terrible tasting. The sausage was also a bit spicey-tasted just like from TH.

Corbin and Carter shared a cinnamon roll (snack credit) and bowl of fruit (snack credit) for breakfast.

Since you get two drinks with breakfast, we got the boys orange juice and Dan and I just gout fountain drinks. Dan's mom got a bottle of water and orange juice I think.

Then we were off to wait for our meet and greet with McQueen. We headed back over to our "spot" and we were the ONLY ones there. Secretly, deep down, I was hoping Corbin would be chosen as the little guy who gets to wave the flag and bring the cars out. I know how much he would have LOVED that. I took a few pictures with the mouse ears on while we waited to help pass some time.

We'd been chatting with several other families that had come to wait and were commenting on how it was weird that we hadn't seen any CMs to set up anything for the meet and greet. About ten minutes or so after the scheduled start time, a CM came from no where and asked another family if they were waiting for McQueen. They said they were and I was trying to listen without being nosey. The CM proceeded to tell them they were in the wrong spot and they'd made a permanent location for the meet and greet. Mater and McQueen had been meeting other kids while we're sitting here waiting for them!

I was so incredibly upset by the entire situation. We practically ran to meet them before the line was closed or it was too late. They would have had one ticked off mommy on their hands to say the least!

We made it to the line but Corbin was adament he wasn't going to meet them because "they're too loud". I made him wait in line and at least walk up there. They weren't nearly as loud as I'd remembered from our last visit but yes, they are kind of loud. Corbin stood for one picture-screaming and crying the entire time before I let him come back by me and let Carter get his picture. He was just happy as a clam the entire time. He kept says "Cars Moma! Cars!" Too cute!!

After that, we took a small break-Corbin had to go potty again! I'd let him get away with no pull up (just in case) and I was starting to regret that. He never had an accident but there were some very close calls! (Note to self....got back to beginning and add story about Corbin and having to go potty!)

Since everyone was sitting, I snapped a few pictures:

It was getting close to our FP time for TSM. On our way back, we found a couple very special people that we had to stop and meet before we could ride.

Alright....back to "real life" now...I'll try and check as often as I can during the week (probably on my lunch hours). I don't know how much time I'll have at night-depends on how exhausted I am and when the boys go to bed.

No update?? I just found out my SIL is going Dec 16-21. So jealous! How's your weekend going so far? I didn't sit down at home today until 9 p.m. Left the house at 9:15 this morning. Just running all over the place. I hate days like this.
