We've never gone to the House of Blues but are planning to go in March to see Steve Vai. Wondering if we should plan on eating there or eat before we go. Anyone have experience there?

Good place to eat. We have always had good service too.
Interesting restaurant,
Enjoy!

We have visited both the one in Orlando and the one in New Orleans...love the food! Skillet Baked Rosemary Cornbread with Maple Butter is to die for and if you like shrimp the voodoo shrimp is terrific.

Very good restaurant. Try the "Red Beans and Rice" along with their corn bread. :D

I've been to the HoB in Boston. When I used to live up there I loved going, for both the food and the entertainment, but more so the latter.

I also went to the HoB in DL, and while I had a good time, I didn't have a chance to eat. The place was huge compared to Boston, being three tiered and having an outside deck where you could watch the stageshow via TV. Boston was very intimate.

I'm going to the HoB in DTD (FL) my first time in March also, but to see Big Head Todd and the Monsters. I'm guessing it'll be more like DL.

We love HoB! Have eaten there 3 x, gonna eat there again next week. I like to try different entrees each time, but I always get a cold Corona, the voodoo shrimp and the cornbread...mmmmm! The shrimp po boy is great, but it's not always on the menu now. Jambalaya is yummy and hot! Dh and I usually share food here. My kids love, love, love their mac n cheese, they even asked the waitress for the recipe - she loves it too, but alas, she said they won't even give it to her. We love the atmosphere and music there, very cool. :smooth: If the weather is nice, sit outside on the back porch overlooking the water, it's lovely! I've always been too stuffed to try dessert there.

laurabelle is right - go there when when hungry! I had jambalaya this past November and only managed to eat half of it and I'm not picky! We did manage to share a dessert though.

Too bad that you have to be seated (or have a ps) before 6pm to get 20% off for AP holders - I see that the time has now changed to 4pm - it used to be good for an early dinner - 4pm is a little TOO early.

Thanks for the replies. My DH says his mouth is watering. We'll definately have to try it.

We have never been to the HoB in Disney but we have been in New Orleans and LasVegas. I love the menue and the atmoshphere. The HoB could easily be a best value restaurant at Disney as the price point is far lower than at many of the other dining options. I wouldn't worry about the 20% at the HoB. If you eat at other Disney restaurants you will already feel like you have received a discount when your check arrives. Food quality has always been great and I'm sure we will eat at HoB many more times in the future. I like the Elwood chickens sand and the Voodoo shrimp. You can see the menue at www.allears.net

When I tried to post last night it was blank. Just wanted to thank all who answered. DH says his mouth is watering after reading the replies. We'll definately have to dine there as well as enjoy Steve Vai's show.
