Hi there disney friends! we are planning to go in Disney California! But we don't have relatives there! I just thought we will stay in a certain comfortable hotes that near the Disney land! Any sugesstions? and contacts?
Thanks!

Here is a link to an ariel view of the Disneyland Resort. If you areanm't going to stay in one of the 3 Disney resorts the best places IMHO are
Howard Johnson
The Best Western Park Place Inn
Candy Cane (not indicated on the map but it is there)

Other that have been good
The Anabella
Park Inn (Now known as the Camelot Inn)
The Tropicana

Vangger...We stayed at the Candy Cane last year and loved it :thumbsup2 You can walk to DL (about 10 minutes) or take their free shuttle to the parks. The hotel itself was great...nicely landscaped, good pool, free continental breakfast...and a great location. We highly recommend it.

Good luck,
Danny

Hi,

We liked the HoJo when we stayed there. We also liked the Park Inn (tried both a suite and a regular room)...it was a bit worn before the recent update but clean and the service was good (free breakfast was danish, coffee and OJ kind of thing). I would think the furniture and rooms would have been updated when it became the Camelot but I don't know for sure. Our preferred hotel is hands down the Candy Cane Inn for many reasons: super comfy beds, good breakfast, lovely grounds, great service, cleanliness, easy walk, dedicated shuttle etc.

I don't think you would be disappointed with any of them though....

We enjoyed the HoJo and really enjoyed the Tropicana. And although I guess I shouldn't recommend a place I haven't stayed at, I cannot help but mention the Candy Cane, which always seems to get incredibly good reviews. But due to the fabulous location and our great experience at the Tropicana we will likely stick with that for our offsite Disneyland stays.

My only advice is stay as close to the DL gate as you can get. We stayed at HoJo's once and the extra walking up Harbor was too much for us.

Our exact same experience with the HoJo! I know a lot of people don't find the walk bad. For us however, since we get to the parks at opening, take a midday break, then go back until they close, no matter how late, that was too much walking. That's why I like the Tropicana, its been recently remodeled and is a much closer walk. It also has a free (but very minimal) breakfast that can save you some money on food. It doesn't have the lovely grounds the HoJo has but since we stay offsite only to save money and for convenience, location is key.

Another vote for the Candy Cane if they have rooms available for your dates. I stayed there with my husband and 2 kids in March, and last weekend with my two good friends. The rooms are a bit small, but the place is just great.

On this past Sunday morning I caught the 7:30 shuttle to the park. I was the only person on the bus. I was talking to the driver. He said the hotel was built in about 1957. The original owner is now about 95. HIs family imigrated from Turkey when he was about 14 years old. He handed the hotel over to his only son a few years ago (I'm not sure how long ago). Its been family owned the entire time. It is their only hotel and they take great pride in it- and it really shows when you are there.

Thanks for the history on the Candy Cane Inn! Very interesting. I agree, the pride the owners take in the hotel is evident in everything. The first time I stayed at the Candy Cane Inn was back around 1973 or so and I remember loving it then. I had not tried it again as an adult until the last few trips to DL and we (and the other 5 families who went with us) are hooked! :cheer2: My dad took his wife to DL last year and they stayed at the CCI. Dad couldn't believe how much it had changed (it has been a very long time :rotfl: ) and they both loved it too.
