Hotel Within Walking Distance Of Discovery Cove/sw

Are there any safe, decent hotels within walking distance of Discovery Cove? How far is Discovery Cove from Sea World? Is there a hotel where we can stay that we could walk to both??

We will have our 9 and 13 year old with us, so we would prefer a "kid friendly" hotel with GREAT outdoor pool.

Discovery Cove is right across the street from Sea World. The closest hotel to Sea World is the Renissance Resort, which is right across the street from Sea World. You can also stay along International Drive and take the I-Ride Trolley to Sea World. Check out the I-Ride Trolley at www.iridetrolley.com

The Renissance Resort has some type of special deal with Discovery Cove too. Definitely check their website.

We always stay onsite at Disney & Universal and when we had gone to Discovery cove in the past, both offered free shuttles to SW. From SW there is a free shuttle to Discovery Cover. When taking the first shuttle, tell them you are going to Discovery Cove and they will drop you off at the far end of the parking lot near some telephones where you simply pick up the phone and tell them the size of your party and they will send a land rover (vehicle type may have changed) to pick you all up and bring you right over to the entrance/registration area. I believe the longest we had waited was about 10 minutes.

One thing I would note is that you should plan on getting there real early (1 hr is suggested) as each guest must register and get a picture taken for a custom ID on a lanyard before going into the cove - this can be a legthy process and waiting in a long line to do this can be tough on young children. The registration time also dictates what tiime your "dolphin swim" is at if you purchased that package.

Any of the hotels on Westwood Blvd. are very close, and also serviced by the trolley. Rennasaince (I'm sure I misspelled that) is the closest; the Sheraton is quite close to Sea World, as well.
