Hi there, these two hotels seem to offer great prices for the time I am going to DW.
Any advice or hints on the two so I can choose would be most appreciated!

Thanks, Daisy..:sunny:

I have never stayed at the Radisson Parkway, but I have stayed at the Royal Plaza, and I have to say that if you can get a room at the same price, to stay at the Royal Plaza. It's on property, and thus keeps you that much closer to the action.

However, I wasn't overly impressed with the rooms at the Royal Plaza. I stayed in the wings though, and not the tower. The rooms in the wings weren't awful, just a little run down, definitely in need of repair.

So I suppose if you'd prefer a cleaner room, stay at the Radisson. If you'd prefer a room in somewhat rougher shape (assuming you'd be staying in the wings), but closer to the parks, I'd say pick the Royal Plaza.

Good luck with your decision. You'll have a great time no matter which you choose! :)

I would pick the Hotel Royal Plaza. Try for the tower.

There has been some negative feedback on that Radisson.

Hotel Royal Plaza sleeps five, which is a rarity, if it matters to you. We thought it was a good value.

I've stayed in the tower and in the wings at Royal Plaza and have to say that the tower is definitely nicer. The rooms aren't all that much different but the ones in the tower are a little bigger and the bathrooms are much nicer. I did have a balcony I could sit on in the wing room though which you do not get in the tower, you'll have a balcony but it's standing room only. Another thing that bothered me in the wing is that even though I was in a non-smoking room there were smoking rooms all around me and when I walked into the hallway smoke was all I could smell. I have a sensitive sniffer, especially where cigarettes are concerned so that really bothered me. I really do love this hotel though. I will only stay in the tower though from now on. You can usually get a tower room for not much more than a wing room and the extra money is most definitely worth it.

I stayed at the Radisson Resort Parkway last May, and while it was a great deal for the price I paid, I'm not in a big rush to stay there again. I have no complaints about service and cleanliness, in fact, the room was actually very clean. What I was disappointed about was the decor of the room. They advertise it as been "newly renovated" but if so, their decorator is particularly fond of the 70's. The room colors were bright and garish, and it seems like they were going for a "Polynesian" theme, but it didn't quite work.

Other than that, it was nice for a quick trip, (we were only there for the weekend) but I don't know if I'd want to stay for an extended vacation. We didn't try the pools, so I can't comment on that, but bus service was efficient and the breakfast buffet was nice and relatively inexpensive.

Have a great trip, whatever you decide!

While on our honeymoon this last September, wife and I split our stay between a tower room at Hotel Royal, Port Orleans Riverside, Courtyard Marriott DTD, and Animal Kingdom Lodge. My wife is a VERY light sleeper and has back problems, and she stated she slept the best in the Hotel Royal tower room. We got a great rate, and the room and bed was great. We did have ressies for Radisson Resort Parkway and we went and were allowed to check out several rooms. We were impressed with everything EXCEPT the beds, which we thought were too rigid and not very comfortable at all. We even tried the beds in the poolside rooms with the comforter on them and still were not impressed. I made a comment about the beds at the front desk and was told they have heard similar comments but there were no plans to replace the beds anytime soon...
The groundfloor area at Hotel Royal did appear to need a bit of paint touch up, but our tower room was fantastic and the staff treated us very well. We were so impressed with the Hotel Royal we have already decided to stay there again on our next Disney trip. Hope my two cents helps your decision...

We stayed at the Radisson Parkway in January. I don't have a bad thing to say, other than the rooms were a bit on the small side, but otherwise I was very happy with the room. It was nicely decorated and very clean. We could tell that our room was newly renovated. I would definitely stay there again -- It was a good experience and priced just right!
