Hello all, we are a family of 6 with kids ranging from 2 to 14. With a large family we now need either a family suite or two (adjoining) hotel rooms for our trips.

I am looking for recommendations for good, cheaper hotels. Of course, being close is preferable with the two little ones but I don't mind staying farther away and driving to the park if it works out cheaper alll the way around.

The cheapest hotel I have found for a suite is the Peacock Inn (I have never been there...), which doesn't appear to be a good walking distance to the park, but I can book a suite for about $75/night for our upcoming trip in February 09.

Any suggestions? Two standard rooms is fine, but will the hotels ever give you a discount if you rent two rooms or something? Or can you think of any other ways to strategerize it economically?

Thanks!
Jennifer

deserts inn, seems to be a popular choice for big familys it has family rooms (conjoined rooms) and are a fair price, plus they are RIGHT across the street from DL!!!!

When we planned our trip for this month back in Feb we were able to get the Desert inn for 59.00 for a standard room or 79.00 for a parlor suite.

I don't know if you can get that rate for Feb but I would try. It would accommidate 6 people. They have some suites that take up to 8-10 people too.

If you can't get a low rate online try calling them.

We have 2 adjoining rooms (theycall it a family suite) at the Desert in the Week of Thanksgiving for $159 for both rooms. We needed 2 full baths and they had it. It has a fridge, micro, cont breakfast and right across the street. We have two nights booked for $139 for the Wed and Thursday before the weekend and week of T'giving

We have been there with 5-6 people... You can get a mini-suite, and you really cannot beat the location. It is literally right across the street from the entrance to Disneyland Resort. I have heard that it is actually closer than one of the Disneyland hotels, but I haven't timed it or anything. Definitely comparable though, and quite reasonable. We have always had great service there; the decor is slightly outdated, but it is always clean and there is an outdoor pool. Plus there is the bus stop right outside the hotel if you want to do anything else, and a continental breakfast is included, right next door. The location is amazing; can't say enough good about it! Plus you should definitely be able to fit all 6 comfortably.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I have looked in to the BW Park Place Inn but was wondering if there were cheaper alternatives!

Thanks again,
Jennifer

oooh there are some decent rates at the DI&S so I will definitely look into that one! Much closer than the Peacock Inn (??)! Thank you!

I would suggest RI maingate, but it is not cheaper, but much nicer than others with a great breakfast and manager specials.

Depending on your dates, you might be able to get two adjoining standard rooms at Howard Johnson's for $59 a night each at the Entertainment book rate.

desert inn hojos or camolot inn id call and check desert inn has grate rates. hojos with ent book rate beat desert inn

We have stayed in the mini-suites at the BWPPI three times with our family of six. Two queens beds and a roll-out queen worked for us. It is also the closest hotel to DLR aside from Disney's GCH. :)

Thanks all, I booked a parlor suite at the DI&S. $99/night. It was more expensive than the Peacock Suites, but they had $8/day parking. So we'll save on that, plus save $12/day by not having to park in the DL garage, so all told it will be about $35 more expensive, big deal.
