We are taking the Wonder 4 day cruise in April and I thought I read on this Board before that the Dolphin/Swan offered a $99 per night deal for a couple days before or after your cruise. Is this true, anyone use it lately? What did you think of the hotel? Thanks!

giving this a bump as I'm also interested in whether they have this.....especially for after the cruise in our case. If they do have it, are there any restrictions, number of people in 1 room, etc.

thanks.:D

I’m in the same situation. 4 day WONDER cruise in May with a stay afterwards at the SWAN. I was unable to get any special deals from either DCL or the Swan?! If this special discount still exists (I was told that it was not renewed for 2003), I’d sure love to know!

I just checked with the Swan/Dolphin reservations agent, and they have discontinued the cruise special. Right now they are pretty booked for April and what dates that are available they want $295 a night. Yikes, that's a little salty for us! We just booked PO Riverside for right after our cruise 4/10-13 and got a Disney Club rate of $143 plus tax a night. No AP rates for those dates as of today.

If you do not qualify for the teacher/medical/military discount, go to starwood.com and sign up to be a Starwood Preferred member. It is easy and free and will open the door to many great discounts. You also begin accumulating points which you can eventually redeem for things like free nights and free meals.

When I called the Dolphin the operator had no clue about the cruise discount. You have to book directly through DCL. We did pay $99/night in Dec. Peak season, too. It's a nice hotel. My only complaint is the smoke smell, even in the non-smoking rooms. Maybe it was just that day? But the location is perfect and the price can't be beat.

If we had more time, we definately would have checked out the boardwalk area which is just a short walk from Swan/Dolphin.

Wow!! $99 a night is an incredible deal! I noticed that you stayed at the Dolphin. I’m wondering is this same deal is available at the Swan? Also, since you stayed in 2002, I’m still concerned that this discount program is no longer available in 2003. It sure sounds like Starwood elimated this discount program all together. I’ll call DCL tonight to see what they say…

It is the same for the Swan or the Dolphin (we've stayed at both). We just stayed in January at the Dolphin and were able to use the teacher discount. Previous to the teacher discount discovery, I had a really good rate through Starwood Preferred. I was still able to earn points towards this with using the price for teachers. I believe it was $129 per night for teachers. The rate I had previous through Preferred guest was something like $169. I would suggest getting a Preferred Guest number and seeing if there are 'internet booking' discounts. If there are none for the time period you need, then call the hotel directly and ask.
