Horrible, Awful, Disgusting Meals

...does Disney actually think that all kids eat is spaghetti, macaroni, pizza and burgers??? There's nothing my kid won't eat and I've just started to do half orders of "real food" like pasta primavera (did this @ Cinderlla's castle...my server had to get special"permission" from the chef in order to do this...as if...how ridiculous honestly!!!) I wish they would throw the odd vegetable or something on thos menus for our kids!!!! Yeesh!!!

This is off-topic, but I just have to agree with pkitty on this one! I don't have kids, but I'm always disturbed by children's menus that don't offer anything even remotely healthy!

delikado....and pkitty........THANKS for saying what I am always thinking when we go to WDW!!!

My DD loves vegies and salads and (select) sea food.

Those kids menus are HORRIBLE. My DD doesn't hesitate to order of the "adult" menu and we will always ask for a smaller portion.....at a smaller price. We've never had trouble doing that. But if they aren't able to.....we just either split it or take a left-over bag back to the hotel.:)

We won't go back to:
Chef Mickey's(dinner) The food was just so blahhhh
Alfredo's
Coral Reef

But one's that were on a few other's lists are some of our favorites:
H&V-breakfast
Tony's-we went there in October for lunch for the first time and my bruschetta and chicken parm were outstanding. I can't wait to go back there.

Hi, just some background. I am from New Orleans where we love to eat especially great tasting spicy food. My family always tends to have low food expectations once we leave our area (so many people can't cook who run these restaurants). And of course, Disney runs this gammett (sp?). I will never ever spend any money at Cinderella's Table. We ate dinner here once in late 1990's and never again. The food was cold (I don't like cold steak) the cute Mickey butter was frozen solid (I think the knife bent while we attempted to cut it) and the rolls were as hard as rocks. We could've thrown those rolls across the run and killed some one with them. It was expensive and so very bad.

Rainforest in DTW. Pretty much as everyone above described. Food is mediocre but plentiful, you will wait (even with PS) and service is slow. (However, we ate breakfast once at Rainforest at AK and really enjoyed it althoug overpriced but we were given plenty and made it out in about 50 minutes.

Sci-Fi, after eating here you are going to wish that they would send you out into space as you'll be disgusted when you leave. The only thing they can cook is a burger which is over priced when eating here. We decided to try something else (whole purpose of eating in a seating rest. is so you won't have to eat fastfood). ham sandwich, alfredo noodle dinner and spinach and artichoke dip. They forgot to put the spinach in the dip (quite literally - disgusting to even mention it now), they didn't have any alfredo sauce on the noodles and how in the hell do you mess up a ham sandwich.

As for fast food, Plaza Pavillion MK (have tried pizza twice, no sauce just cheese on top of hard pizza dough) was just disgusting.

I have had many good and great experiences as well.

LeCellier (great)
Garden Grille (great)
House of Blues (good)
Crystal Palace (good)
Tony's (mixed, I had steak which was very good, family had spagetti which was so big 3 people could've split but sauce tasted if out of a can - overall we did enjoy the experience).
Any baked pastry from France's bakery (old time eclairs)
Restaurant at Port Orleans

I know that I am forgetting a few places but oh well. Also, I have never had bad icecream from anywhere in the Kingdoms.

ohanas
ohanas
ohanas
ohanas

the meat is either burnt or medium rare or burnt on the outside and medium rare on the inside

way overpriced and overrated

That is why we normally go to family style or buffets at WDW when DD is with us... that way, we pay the kids price, but she can eat anything she wants (yes, she LOVES the clams and mussels at Cape May!). She gets tired of the mac n cheese, spaghetti and chicken finger dinners, too. I think the reason though, that those menus are like that is because there are so many kids who WON'T eat anything else.

Narcoosee, Yuck I had the Pan Seared Scallops that were undercooked. slimy jello-like consistency and when I asked for them to be redone. They came back only slightly warmer and just as undercooked. I had to leave and felt nasty for the rest of the night. I like my sea food cooked well done. Never again will I go there.

Its interesting to see some of the responses. After reading a few of these, I think I'll skip 1900 Park Fare next time I'm there.

Just remember to take all of these with a grain of salt. For every post from someone who dislikes a restaurant, you will find someone who likes it. For example we loved Park Faire when we were there last July. We also really loved Sci Fi Diner for lunch. I have always loved Ashkerhus. Others here, as you have read, didn't like them. It really is all in the opinion of the reviewer.

Mexico. Our server took the order and dissapeared. Someone else delivered the food. It was completely inedible, I SWEAR it was cardboard form the kitchen floor. We ordered four different entrees and everyone of them looked identical (maybe they brought us the wrong food??) We eat traditional Mexican (NOT Taco Bell!) at home, so it's not that we aren't familiar with the cuisine. The server never came back, I had to go to the hostess stand to ask them to hunt down our check almost 40 minutes after we were served. Not only was it the worst meal we've ever had at WDW, but possibly my life. We didn't leave a tip, and frankly in retrospect should have spoken to a manager and refused to pay for the meal.

We didn't leave a tip

I alway leave something when the service is very bad. I don't want the waiter/waitress to think I just forgot. By leaving something small, you are making more of a statement.

Had a horrible prime rib at Rose & Crown in 2001. So drowned in garlic that it was inedible. Had bad meal at Pinocchio Haus, but that was in 1997.

Had suprisingly great meal at San Angel Inn despite what a couple of other posts experienced.

Coral Reef - okay food, but not great, small portions, big prices. Only go there to eat if you have kids that would enjoy the aquarium setting.

We've dined at San Angel 15 times and only once were we disappointed in the service. We always enjoy the food and we're Tex-Mex fans from Texas. (San Angel is not really Tex-Mex but traditional Mexican.) Just had to put a good word in for one of our favorite places.

San Angel Inn

I thought the atmosphere was nice here (enjoyed watching the volcano) and margaritas were excellent. We live near the border of Texas and have lots of really good Tex-Mex places here. We prefer Tex Mex although we have eaten authentic Mexican in a couple areas of California and when we've been in Mexico (5 times). We weren't pleased with our food at San Angel but for one thing we really didn't realize that there weren't more Tex-Mex style options and we probably just didn't order the "right" thing. That can have a lot to do with opinions of a place. I've even gone to our favorite restaurants at home and decided to try something different than usual and not cared for it so a lot depends on personal tastes and what you order. Also, a couple of years has passed since we've been there and that can make a difference. We very well may try it again since I don't like to say "never again" if I've only eaten there once.

Liberty Tree Tavern, we all enjoyed this one very much and plan on eating here again on our next trip.

Garden Grill, again we all enjoyed the food and characters.

Rain Forest Cafe AK, it was hot at AK and the cool air in RFC was great, was not crowded, all we ordered was pizza and soda so i cannot comment on other food here, pizza was pretty good. loved the decor. yes we will try this one again.

Planet Hollywood, hubby and myself were there in 1996 and enjoyed it, thought food was good. went back last july and thought food was not worth price paid.

Hollywood & Vine, I liked the food here, Hubby did not.

Donalds Breakfast, we did not like the food , GS did have a great time with the characters.

We've eaten many, many places at Disney and the only *stand out* bad meal for us has been breakfast at Cindy's Royal Table. Twice - never again. The eggs were certainly not real eggs...My guess would be powered, but I'm not sure. Also, the bacon was way undercooked - ewwww. We found the puffed danish greasy and extremely sweet. The potatoes were to die for, however, for the price...we wanted more than potatoes. The muffins could have been good, but why stick chocolate chips in them? The character interaction was rushed both times...the princesses basically came to the table and said, "Eat your food hunny" to my daughter and moved on. Photos were obliged, as long as it was quick! Be ready with that camera! Just MHO, of course.

Unfortunately for me I disliked the food at Crystal Palace the most. Over-cooked and flavorless. I say unfortunately for me because we go there every year for the characters. It's one of those places where my DW tells me to try and enjoy it for the kids.

"Pan-seared" usually means that the food is cooked rare. Especially seafood. It is not the fault of the restaurant or the cook that people have not caught up to the growing popularity of rare cook seafood.

The worst meal I have had was at the Luau. Now THAT was gross. The entertainment is good though.

Alfredo's is the worst restaurant in the world (I don't mean the worst in disney world, I mean the worst in the entire world)

It is hard to describe how bad Alfredo's food is but let me put it this way: when I was a kid I went to the zoo on a class trip and there was a chimp there who kept vomiting in his hand and then eating the vomit. That chimp had a better meal than you will have at Alfredo's.

That has to be the funniest descriptions I have ever heard.......I'm still laughing - maybe its NY sense of humor :p
