We will be at WDW for 9 days and would like to have a day where we can get out, take a drive, see the beach, etc. Can we pool hop to Vero Beach and use the beach and pool there?

Locals use the restaurants, so getting on property shouldn't be a problem. People here have reported being able to pool hop there, so ask at the desk, or call before. You will need a key to access the pool, and the pool towels are now in the room, not at the pool, so I don't know how that is handled. I think it's a nice ride from WDW and the resort is worth seeing. I hope you are successful in enjoying a day at the resort. Sebastian Inlet State Park isn't far up the road, AIA from VB resort.

Portable Perks officially lists VB as a pool-hopping eligible resort and we're planning to use the privilege this summer. I'm assuming that showing a valid KTTW from a DVC resort will be sufficient. :thumbsup2.

Hopping to VB for a day sounds like a really cool idea. Are there lockers & showers down by the pool area?

But there are no pool towels at the pools, so you'll probably need to bring your own. The beach access is also gated, so you'll need to check in at the main desk to get access. Your KTTW from your WDW resort will need to say DVC member on it.

It's about a two hour drive to VB from WDW.

We've done this. 7 of us went for a "day trip". We were staying at AKV, and I wanted to show everyone why we have come to love Vero Beach. The weather wasn't cooperative, but we did go walk on the beach and had a wonderful lunch at the Green Cabin at the outside tables. We called first. This is a good thing to do because they told us there are some "black-out" days. We stopped at the front desk and they issued us two keys because we were staying in two different rooms at WDW. So I guess it would be 1 pass/key per room.

There are supposed to be replacement towels at Eb and Flo's, so I'd guess that DVC members doing DVC-sanctioned pool hopping will be allowed to show their gate key and receive towels. The CMs at VB are really nice, and I can't imagine more than a handful of guests per year actually doing the 2 hour trek there and 2 hour trek back to pool hop. I am thinking they will let you use a couple of towels with your pass key card.

There have been reports of temporary keys being issued to grant pool and beach access. There are showers and lockers at the pool.
