How bad are Category 2 and Category 3 seatings? Are they pretty much OK, as in there's really no bad seat in the house? Is there a noticeable difference between the 2 and 3 categories?

I ate at Hoop many years ago and we lucked out with a table near the stage. I can't remember how big the theatre is and if the seats in the back and upstairs would be OK.

TIA!

I've been in the Category 2 seating (on the main floor) and we had a great view as did the 2 small children in our party. I've heard that a lot of people actually prefer the balcony seating (I think it's part of cat. 3 seating) as they get a great view of the entire stage. It seems that there really isn't a bad seat in the house!

Enjoy!

We had balcony seats when we went in Feb, thought they were GREAT. You could see the whole stage and not miss a thing. And the actors came up to the balcony every now and then as well.

I've never been to Hoop. Do they sit you with other people for a "family style" type atmosphere like at Biergarten? How's the food?

No, you have your own table, but the food is brought out in metal pails and you just pass it around and serve yourself (at your own table of course--no sharing of food between tables).

The food is mediocre to good. Simple fried chicken, ribs, corn, beans, salad, strawberry shortcake.

For years we went to WDW and never saw the Hoop Dee Doo Review. So...on our 10th trip, we finally decided we would do it. We waited a little late to make ADRs but they still had a couple of tables.

When we walked into the theater, we were given the VERY LAST TABLE in the theater. (Category 3) I thought on my gosh....I have just wasted two table service credits on the very last seat in the house? We're not gonna be able to see anything. I was upset to say the least.

Boy was I forever wrong! Our table was a high table and our seat swiveled. We were able to see everything. The performers make their way around the entire theater and they stopped at our table a couple of times during the show.

Because we had nobody at our backs, we were able to move around comfortably in our seat without bumping into other people.

I don't think there's a bad seat in the entire theater.

You are seated at a table with just your family. The servers bring the food to your table family style meaning the platters of food are brought to your table and replinished as you request. The menu consists of bbq ribs, fried chicken, corn on the cob, baked beans, rolls, salad and strawberry shortcake. Everything was very good!

We liked the Hoop Dee Doo so much we are heading back in just 36 days!

Hope this helps! Lisa

Thank you, everyone! Your posts helped. I am going to try to get a Category 3 seating, though I know that it might already be booked for our date.
