hoop dee doo

We love the Hoop Dee Doo! We went for the first time in March of last year and then my DH and I went on our trip in December again. The show is a lot of fun and very entertaining.

As for the food - here are our thoughts:
Chicken - excellent
Ribs - kind of chewy and not all that great in my opinion
veggies - great
Bread - great but the butter the butter has a flavor to it (honey?) and my kids did not like it. We should have requested plain butter.
Unlimited beer and sangria - oh so good. DH had beer (they brought him his own small pitcher) and I had sangria (also my own small pitcher).

The kids (DD7 and DS 3) also loved the food and entertainment. We are not doing it on our upcoming trip but it is only because DH and I have seen it 2 times within a year and want to try something new. I know that it will still continue to stay on our favorite list.

Let's just say you go for the show, not for the food. :p

The food is pretty simple fare: chicken, ribs, corn on the cob, maybe beans (having trouble with the memory...), and strawberry shortcake for dessert. No menus.

Your beverage is included in the price- I know that soft drinks, iced tea and beer are available.

The show is lively, and the performers interact with the audience a bit- even getting some of them onstage.

We've been to the Hoop Dee Doo several times and have enjoyed it each time, food and the entertainment. :D The entertainment is corny but fun, lots of laughs. My family loves the fried chicken and my husband really likes the ribs. The bread and corn are good too. The strawberry shortcake is also a favorite.

Last year we took our daughter who was 2 1/2 at the time and she absolutely loved it (we weren't sure how she would do there). She sang hoop dee doo for months!

We were just there last Sat. night. We loved it! The fried chicken was excellent, ribs were tender and we loved the bread and butter. The food was plentiful, plus unlimited beer and wine. We thought the show was a hoot!! We will definitely go back!!

I agree that you go more for the show than food. I am a picky eater but did not leave hungry.
The show is wonderful. We just got PS for our next trip. This will be a 3rd HdD show.
Our kids saw it for the first time in OCt. and loved it. My DS (8) got there and looked around with a "you have got to be kidding me" look but 2 secs. into the show he was hooked!
PS we love the flavored butter, our kids did not.

Hoop was our favorite memory from our trip last May (which also included a 7-day disney cruise). The show was sooo funny, the tears were streaming! We thought the food was good. I don't usually eat fried chicken, but Hoop's was really good. My three DD's, ages 9, 5 and 2 loved this show. We already have reservations for our next trip in December.

IMO the food is lousy. But the kids love the show! I hadn't been in many years (my youngest is 17 so hasn't requested to go in a long time) but took my niece and nephew in November they loved it just as much as my kids did when they were young. For the kids enjoyment it is worth it. They were both almost rolling on the floor.

This was the best memory from our last trip and it will be very hard to top. My DS (11) at the time complained the entire time getting there, but laughed the loudest! He likes that dry humor. He loved playing the "music" at the end with the spoon. He is really picky, but I called ahead for a special meal and it was there for him. My DD loved every minute including the boat ride there from MK.

My DH was picked to be in the final act and that's why it will be a memory hard to top. I must say that he was excellent. One lady thought he was part of the show. I always knew that his air guitar playing in the kitchen would come in handy. He's such a ham. He's a closet actor I guess :)

I am not sure we would go back though and not because we didn't absolutely love it, but because it would never top the first time. It was just perfect. We had seats right next to the stage too.

Being picked for the show though doesn't depend on your seat though as people from all over the room were picked.

LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT!!!

We loved it, too. Just make sure to use Disney transportation if you plan to drink-- some servers are VERY attentive and fill your beer, wine, or sangria frequently (which is part of the fun!)
Seeing my mom sip white wine in a jar through a straw was a hoot! Also, make sure you leave plenty of time to get there- we almost lost our ressies b/c it took over an hour on Disney transportation(!)
