I was wondering if anyone has been to both of these dinner shows? we are making our first trip to disney in Aug and have a ps for the hoop dee doo, We have been to the Dixie Stampede dinner show in Branson Mo and loved it. I noticed that the dixie in orlando is opening this month. Since they are both about the same price I was wondering if we should do both or if one would really out weigh the other. Any suggestions are appreciated. Tia.

We have never gone to Dixie Stampede, but plan to this October trip. I guess the deciding factor for us was our DDIL is working there now. Our DS called us wednesday evening to tell us he got to go to the first seating of Dixie Stampede while Dolly Parton was there. He gave it a great review. Told us the menu and a little bit about the show. (Dolly sang at that show) So we are looking forward to going too.

We have on the other hand gone to the "Hoop Dee Doo Review" at least 7 times. It's always a good time with good food and laughter. DS who lives in Orlando now was in the show back when he was 7 years old and DD was the Can-Can dancer once. I'm sure we'll go again on a future trip.

Which ever you decide, HAVE A GREAT TIME!!

We've been to both..and liked them both. They are both different. I will tell you that I would bring in a plastic knive and fork to Dixie if you don't care ot eat with your hands. I didn't because I was told if you insisted they would give them to you..but I insisted (I guess not enough) and still had to eat with my hands. If you have already been to Dixie, I would go to HDD Review.

We've been to the Dixie Stampede in Pigeon Forge, and I can tell you that it's more "spectacular" than HDDR - more akin, I'd say, to dinner shows like Medieval Times. They're both good in their own way. Both are laugh-out-loud funny. I'm guessing that since you've seen Dixie Stampede you might enjoy HDDR as a change of pace.

I like 'em both. Neither would win awards for gormet cusine. It'll be interesting to see how the crowds ebb and flow between these two attractions, since they both aim at the same customer demographic (whatever that is!)

I might mention that Medieval Times is a long-time guilty pleasure of ours when it comes to Disney area dinner shows. It's amazing how an arena full of benign tourists can be transformed into a bloodthirsty, chanting mob in one evening.
