I made ressies to attend this on a Wednesday night at the 9:30 seating. I thought that would give us plenty of time to get there after a busy day!

It is quite $$$, but I remember seeing this in 1986 and it was SO cool!!! I would love my DH, DS and DD to see it too but now I am wondering if I am scheduling too much!

Would you recommend this for the money?

We are getting to Orlando on Sunda, Epcot on Monday, Tuesday is rest at the resort, Wednesday is IOA, Thursday is rest at resort or visit relatives, and Friday is MK (with the CINDERLLA BREAKFAST!!!!!!)

My DH is just worried that I am planning to much and I want to make a FEW plans but not too many. I am laid back too, but not as much as he is. Would you think this is worth the time and $$$ this trip?

Is the 9:30 show as good as the earlier ones?

We have been three times and now consider it a must each time we go. The food may not be the best, but it is good enough for us and there is plenty of it. I think it is one one the best original thinks Disney has left(that probably means Esiner wants to cancel it) and we can't wait to see it again...smjj

We loved it--I just wish we could afford to see it every trip:(

Another vote for Hoop de Doo!! We loved it. It is a very silly show.

The Other Half and I were talking about whether we should to Hoop Dee Doo. I've been to WDW countless times yet never went, neither has he.

We're two fun loving, 36 yr old guys with great senses of humor and not too picky about most foods. Would you recommend? Also, I can't seem to find the cost. Anyone know how much it is?

As my 16 month son would say "GO-Go-GO!!!" We are in our mid-thirties and had a blast. I got pulled up on stage once too. What a great time! It's hokey but a lot of fun--You won't be dissapointed!

Mkutch, something tells me that your 16 month old and I would probably have a great monosyllabic conversation! Gotta love that enthusiasm.

Thanks for the recommendation!

Hoop-Dee-Doo is a definate yes!! We went last year because we stayed in the cabins at Fort Wilderness and absolutley loved it. The show is excellent and the performers are so nice and friendly.

When we were there last year my sister was 5 and she was sitting eating her "chicken in a bucket" and one of the performers named Johhny Ringo came by (not on mic or anything) and he saw all of the chicken bones on her plate and he stoppped, and he looked at her and his jaw dropped. Well, as soon as he looked at her she turned 20 shades of red. He turned to her and said "You ate all that chicken" and she just looked at him and nodded slowly as if she were dreaming or something. So then he went back onstage and went over to one of the girls who he was partners with and he said something and looked right at my sister. And so every time we look at the picture of him and my sister we look at her and say "Johnny Ringo" and she lights up like a christmas tree. It's hilarious!!

I deeply suggest that you do it. Yea it is a little pricy but even if you do it once you'll remeber it forever.

Ohhhhhh-Yeaaaaaah! it is DEFINATELY worth spending the dough to go! I have been there several times and had a great time...we plan on going in December of this year also. be sure to go hungry because you get a lot of food! I believe you get Ribs, Fried Chicken, Beans, Corn Bread, Corn on the Cob and Strawberry shortcake (all you can eat!) they also have a small petting zoo type area behind the building where you can go before or after the show depending on how late you go. It's a lot of fun so if you can swing it, try and go. :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Here is the link to the info on this site. Hoop De Doo Revue

I know that they used to give discounts to annual passholders-I think you had to go to the 9:30pm show for that - I don't know if there is a Disney Club discount.

with tax and tip I was qouted like $47. For a family of four(2 adults 2 children ages 4 & 6) the price is $146.00

Yeah, I know it can cost a bundle. for a family of five we're paying $196.62 with tax which almost gave me a heart attack but we still think it's worth it. now mind you, we wouldn't be doing this every week! (haha) just go and have a good time.:Pinkbounc :bounce: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy:

yeah its a vacation and if you can splurdge alittle. I've heard nothing but good things so we are going.

How good is the 9:30 showing???? We wanted a late arrival because we are doing IOA that day!

Drinks are included too, and for the adults, that also includes beer, wine and sangria. For dinner, drinks and a show - $47 isn't all that bad.

We love the show and are going again this coming Sunday night!

Definitely a must do.... I've never been to the late show, but it can't be any different. The strawberry shortcake at the end is the best. I know it's pricey, but if you do the dream maker gold package then it's a no-brainer because it's included. My DM was pulled from the crowd last year and they made her voice sound low and deep from the mic when she was asked to sing. We still laugh about it everytime we talk. I've been going to it since I was 12 and now I'm 27 taking my own DS. We ALWAYS have a good time.

Hope that helps

Every show We've gone to has been the 9:30 show (4x). It has been great! I have to say that after doing parks all day and then throwing back a few beers at dinner have made me a bit sleepy but the show is great! I would venture a guess that it has been more fun sometimes with a later crowd.

I know I won't be win a popularity contest for this but..... when my DD4 and DS8 and I were watching the Disney video that came in the mail, when they showed the clip of HDD, DD4 yelled out "That show looks so stupid". DS8 seconded it. When I told them we were going they both said they didn't want to go. So I cancelled and saved the money. ( I have to admit from the video clip it did look very corny.)

Hey Tink, I TOTALLY can see where you are coming from! (eek, does that sound as bad as I think it does?) it is a LOT of money to spend for something you have no interest in. We go because we like the cornyness and the crowd participation! this is a vacation so you are supposed to do what you think will be fun...if we hadn't done the review once before we had kids, I don't know if we'd be doing it now. In my opinion everyone should give it a try just once if they can swing it but if you don't ...NO BIG DEAL!
go out and HAVE FUN anyway!
