Hoop-Dee-Doo Muscial Revue.....worth it?

helenm29, Thanks. If it was just me and DH I would give it a try because I know once you're caught up in the moment it would be a lot of fun. But I figured since the RRs are already whining about it I'd save the $$ and try something else this time.

We've been to the Hoop Dee Doo several times, most recently in May. Every time it has been entertaining and the food has been great. We will definitely be going back again!

I'm sure all the shows are good. its lets out late though. 11:30

I know I won't be win a popularity contest for this but..... when my DD4 and DS8 and I were watching the Disney video that came in the mail, when they showed the clip of HDD, DD4 yelled out "That show looks so stupid". DS8 seconded it. When I told them we were going they both said they didn't want to go. So I cancelled and saved the money. ( I have to admit from the video clip it did look very corny.)

I said the same exact thing when my mom told me she was taking us (I was 14 at the time). The name really turned me off too.

But you know what? It's now one of my best WDW memories :)

You can still get a 10% discount for the 9:30pm show. I called and checked the other day and we rescheduled lol

Will they automatically give you the 10% off when you get there? Do you have to be a Disney Vacation Club member to get it??

Absolutely! We went when our twins were 7, and they loved it, too, even though most of the jokes went above their heads.
The food is okay, but the entertainment is priceless! I recommend it to everyone. I'm sorry I never went sooner than I did!

Have fun!

The corniness is what makes it so much fun. Everyone from 78 down to the little ones loved every minute of it. While it seems really expensive, if you subtract off the price of dining out at a regular sit down restaurant, the show itself isn't that expensive. I think it is absolutely the one "must do" show at all of WDW. Without a doubt one of our favorite things to do as a family.

how are the seats at the balcony? I called about a month agao for sept so i am assuming I will be up above.

I've got the Disney Club card and was told I had to show my card when I pick up my tickets to get the discount.

I've heard two theories about how they assign tables.
When I was there about two years ago I was under the impression from Disney that the further out you made your ressies, the better table you would get. I had made my ressies pretty far out, and I got a fabulous table on the main floor. This past May a friend and her family went to Disney for the first time and went to Hoop. They loved the show, but they were less than thrilled with their table on the balcony. They were under the impression that the sooner you checked in for the show the better table you would get, which was contrary to what I've always been led to believe. She'd made her ressies pretty far out. My thought is so did a lot of other people, too!

For me it's a litttttttle bit too expensive and won't be putting it into our trip plans, but since it's the longest running show at WDW (um, I think it's the longest running show) it's certainly got my respect :)
