first time to the park. taking a 7 yr and dw. is the hoop de do a must? the late seating is all we can get and I am thinking the 7 yr old will be a sleep after all day in the park?

While the Hoop Dee Doo is a hysterical show that I highly recommend, I wouldn't consider it a must if it doesn't fit well into your plans. If it is your first trip, there will be so much to see and do that you will never miss it. You won't get maximum enjoyment out of it if you have a cranky kid on your hands.

ETA - I've been to WDW about 20 times, give or take, and I've seen the Hoop 2x, with a 3rd planned for our next trip. So, it's definitely not an essential for a great trip.

I agree with the pp. The Hoop Dee Doo is fun but if it is your first time at WDW then will be so many other things to do that you won't miss it at all. I would skip it. You are right that your daughter will be wiped out by the end of the day.

We have been going to WDW since 1973 and we just did the HDDR for the first time in 2013. You can go there another time.
