The Hawaii thread reminded me of something.

DD got engaged a few months ago with the wedding set for June 2023. They’re talking about honeymoon plans. She mentioned Hawaii or the Caribbean; he wants to go to Tokyo. Something about gaming/anime, along those lines.

If you were fortunate to take a honeymoon trip, where did you go?

For my first marriage we went to London for 5 days and Paris for 3 days.

Second marriage was kind of unusual. We had a long weekend planned in Dallas even before we got married quickly in October 2012. So I don’t know if that counts.

We went to WDW in March 2013, so I guess that trip was the official honeymoon. I wanted DH and me to wear Mickey and Minnie wedding ears but he flat out refused.

We went to Asheville, NC and stayed at the Grove Park Inn. It was a really fun trip visiting the Biltmore, driving along the Blue Ridge Parkway, and visiting some waterfalls. We had a spa day at the Grove Park Inn as well, and it was really nice. They have a beautiful spa there.

We have our Honeymoon planned for next September! 1 night at the Arnold Palmer Bay Hill Resort (fiancé is a golfer) and then two weeks at Disney World - we'll have a few more golf days, some pool days, and a Universal day so it's not all "go go go" in the parks.

Not Tokyo, unless it's a dream for both of them.

We did Premier Cruise Lines (before it was the Big Red Boat...) with 4 days in the Bahamas (we chose the Abacos Out Islands) and 3 days in Disney. We also didn't go right afterward -- we took a 4 day trip to Williamsburg right after (late May), and then had the cruise in December. It was also over 32 years ago.

We started ours at Disneyland (California Adventure had just opened) for a few days and drove up the PCH with some stops along the way and ended in San Francisco for a few days. So much fun! My rental car cost a fortune because we were under 24 and not returing it to the same place. We had a folder with all our Mapquest driving directions printed out to correspond to our itinerary 🤣

We went to Bali For 12 days plus 2 travelling day. We stayed a beautiful resort and had a great time. It want even on my radar but when we saw the travel agent she asked what we wanted out of our vacation and we said both relaxation and seeing cultural sites. She had just been so she showed us photos and we Said yes!

LOL @ Winkie avatar. Take it from someone that went t the Caribbean. GO TO HAWAII!!!

I'm not married and have never been married, but I would want to do a honeymoon in Japan (not just Tokyo - done that already). I would want to go to other parts of the country. I would also consider Italy. I have never been there before and it looks gorgeous alongside having amazing historical sights.

No, we didn't. We were married on a Saturday and as I remember it, we spent our wedding night in a fancy hotel suite and then finished moving into our new home together the next day, with the help of all the family and friends that had travelled in. DH went back to work the Monday morning. :earsgirl::earsboy: Disneyland had been the plan (if finances had allowed, which they didn't). I'd never been and it was always my dream. We finally made it 8 years later. :goodvibes

My husband and I both lost our jobs a month or so before we were married. We had planned a Poconos Honeymoon. We canceled and went to the Jersey shore for a couple of days. Not a fun trip as I got an infected foot made worse from the ocean and sand. We had always planned to do something for our 25th anniversary to make up for the honeymoon, we went to Disney World with our grandson. It took us 41 years, but we just went on a cruise to Alaska, just the 2 of us.
