Honest Question on Not Liking the Ships

Got it. So it isn’t 70 nights for free drinks, it is 175.

For me, mostly doing short cruises DCL is the better way to go. Palo after 30 nights. We may end up having it be 35-40 nights.
It's 80 nights for free drinks, but you do get drink 50% off drink coupons and other discounts after just 3 nights. Instead of the sarcasm you could easily look it up.

If you want to spend thousands of dollars to go to the Bahamas over and over again to get some free Italian food then it sounds like a plan. I'm trying to wrap my brain around how that makes sense. Eating at Palo is never free. You still have to tip and pay for any drinks. It's also easy to go over the amount they allot you if you want to order a good steak. Brunch is a better deal, but I won't be surprised if the start limiting what you can order there too.

You really cant win an argument trying to compare DCL's loyalty program to any other cruise line. DCL is a fine cruise line, but after dozens of cruises you won't have anything to show for your loyalty. Now that my kids are grown I regret it.

No sarcasm on my part. Clear to me that for a number of reasons our perspectives are just different on where the value is on DCL, and cruising in general.

Disney Cruise Line always takes care of me for my loyalty.

I've never said there wasn't value in a DCL cruise. Obviously in the past I found value in it. I said their loyalty program is lacking compared to their competitors. Two completely different things and the latter isn't even arguable.

I do not get the minimum reward for my loyalty to Disney Cruise Line. I receive a magical experience and treated like a VIP. Those who sre loyal to Disney Cruise Line know.
Curious- What do you consider being treated like a VIP? The early BG for pearl (and early booking windows) are nice but not uncommon perk. The Palo dinner and photo package is also a good perk but free drinks and laundry are also good perks that DCL does not offer.

DCL does give a lot of swag but I do wonder how many Castaway bags DCL thinks a frequent cruiser needs. If sailing enough to be Pearl, that is quite a collection of them. I would LOVE instead of another giant mickey towel that we could instead be gifted things like a Platinum Magic Band one time (whenever you move up a tier). I would think giving better gifts when you hit a new tier would be smarter than DCL making sure I have another giant mickey towel for cruises 11+

Man, wouldn't that be awesome if we could pre-order our state room gift for something different?
Even if they cannot guarantee it, it would be nice to have a choice rather than keep getting the same tote bags.

Hear me out instead of guaranteed swag every single time- you get so many points per sailing that you can then on select various perks.

A castaway bag is X points, a bag of laundry is Y points, a MB is Z points, Palo meal is a set number of points. It could be system where you can use points each sailing or save them for one splurge cruise with all the extra swag. I would be insanely loyal if I knew that I was going to get to pick my perks and could save up for something that I really wanted.

Basically a catalog of different rewards that you can exchange your rewards points for...

I leave mine on the ship now. I tossed out a bunch of sling bags a year ago. The towels are paper thin but they work for drying the dogs.
