Holy Mickey!! I gained HOW MUCH weight in 9 days??!! Quick opinions and TONS O Pics!

Ok, on to Narcoossee's. Sorry it has taken me forever. I can't seem to get everyone over this virus. Thank goodness we got it AFTER we got home and not while there. ACK!


So this was the night of our anniversary.. we were really looking forward to this meal.. We get there and head all the way to back of the property to go in.. We checked in and headed out to the patio area overlooking the water. It was so nice. We were thinking this was going to be such a wonderful meal. After a few minutes a lady comes out to seat us. She was so sweet..congratulating us and giving us personalized menu's, etc.. Just really nice.

After she leaves our waitress comes by to get us started with our drink orders.. We were already less than impressed with her sadly. She was not friendly at all.. I was so sad to not have a more friendly waitress. She got our orders and left.. came back a while later with drinks and walked away.. So the whole night goes on like this.. just not the service I expected from a place like this. Ah well.. on to the food.

First our bread and butter came out..

It was good but the butter was saltless so a little bland..


Dh and I have never tried lobster before so we got the surf and turf...

Dh was not too big on the lobster.. I never quite formed an opinion on it. I ate several bites and it was just tasteless to me for some reason??

The filets were very yummy but very tiny...lol The potatos were quite good as well! Dh said the filets were the best of the trip.. I thought they were pretty good but I think I liked Jiko's better.

Time for dessert.. I have been waiting to try this cheesecake everyone has talked about... and oh my was it good...

Makes me want more just looking at the pics..hehe

Dh ordered the choc cake (sorry, can't recall the name).. It was not too bad. The waitress did manage to put a candle in it for dh's birthday I guess...

so..there you have it. I would not eat here again personally..but that is just me. It was just not us really and with the not so great waitress and small portions it just did not seem worth the 2 ts credits we used. I did like the view and the food was tastey..just did not blow me away.. (well..except that cheesecake..but that did not even compare to a few other desserts I had this week that I will later get to... )

Today was Epcot day.. I had one main food goal in mind today.. TO TRY SCHOOLBREAD!!!

After strolling around Future World all morning we headed over to World Showcase. I suggested we start on the Mexico side so I could quickly get to Norway..

Now, I have heard a lot about this bread..mostly good but a few bad. Being the picky eater that I am I was not sure what I would think of it..

In I go to admire all the good eats...

and I promtly ask for school bread before I change my mind and pick something else..

OH MY GOODNESS ON A PLATE!!!!! I LOVED it. If I were not about to pop I would have gone in for a second one when I finished. The bread itself was not sweet and the filling inside tasted like vanilla pudding. The coating on the top was more sweet and had another scoop of the pudding on it. Let me tell you... I had to open my mouth so wide trying to bite this thing and I still had it all over me.. I thought people must have been looking at me like I had no manners eating that thing! I wonder if I could have them ship me a dozen of them??




Ok, now let me back up..had to get that out there..

That morning around 11:15 we stopped in at Sunshine Seasons for a bite to eat. We got the Half Rotisserie Chicken and potato sides. Both were quite good.

For dessert..it took some real debating..several things looked very good but I went with the big sweet roll..

This was also very good. The edges were a little hard but the inside was good.




Ok, now I can jump back to dinner.. Le Cellier of course!

This is a must do each trip for us.. we love it.

We were seated about 10 minutes after our adr time. The place seemed to clear out pretty fast and we thought it was strange that they were not taking walk ups.

We were seated in a nice corner booth area and ordered a small bowl of cheese soup to go with our pretzel bread.

Both as yummy as always!


Then we were on to the mushroom filet..minus the mushrooms..

It was very good as well.. it had a little more fat on it than I ever recall having on a filet before but other than that we really enjoyed it.

For dessert I ordered the Choc cake and the Smores. My cake was great and dh and ds liked the smores.. well..what little they ate anyways. They were in a hurry to get out and see the fireworks so it hardly was touched.

Still a great meal..always will be one of my faves.

Love your pics....but I have a question about that School Bread. It looks really different than those I have gotten before. Is that chocolate on it? Also the coconut looks toasted... I hope they didn't change it...I love school bread!

No sure if I spelled that right. That's one of the places we're hitting first. Glad to hear it got good reviews! The pics are awesome. I just ate dinner and you're making me hungry.

Thanks for the great reviews and fab pics. The Filet at Narcoossee's looks pitiful. I hope it is just the way it looks in the pic and not really that tiny. I understand it is a surf and turf but they should be ashamed of serving that steak. It looks like a couple of bites.

I said that to my dh when I saw the school bread. I thought it looked so much different than the pics I had seen before. This is the way they were all week when I was there so I don't know if it is a change for just something they were trying. The topping was like a caramel and the coconut was toasted. I had never had it before so I can't compare to what it used to be but I LOVED this! It was just amazingly good.. Man, I am drooling thinking about it..

The filet really was the pitiful! It was all of about 4-5 bites and then it was gone..lol This is why I did not feel it was worth the 2 ts credits we used..much less anyone every paying the $50+ for it. It was tastey but just nothing to it. I had never seen such small cuts of meat before in my life.

Aww, thanks so much. I was actually really disappointed with them..haha I used a Canon 40D. I have a very part time photography business so I was really hoping to come home with amazing pics and now I see my focus fell off on some of them and I hate the ones I ended up needing flash on since I try to only use natural light. I am so critical of my own work though so it is nice to see that others like them!

Let me see... I think this brings me to Animal Kingdom day...

First, we saw somebody go by with an ice cream cone and we really started to want one too since it was SOOOOO hot. I swear, AK is on the face of the sun!!

I finally found where it came from and grabbed a nice swirly one..

Later in the morning we headed over to Pizzafari for lunch...

We got a pizza, frozen lemonade and then cheese bread with a snack credit..

All was pretty good. No complaints!


Later on we headed back to Riverside to take a little break. We would head back for the night hours when it had cooled off some!

We stopped by the Riverside Mill to grab a quick bite there... Chicken Tender chunks and fries with carrot cake as well as a bacon cheeseburger/fries and a milkshake (which I realize now we forgot to get after we finished our meals..lol).

All was good here. I loved the carrot cake! They were really selfish with the fries though.. when we asked about it they said they were only able to give a certain ounce amount (I can't recall how much now.) I had never heard of this before. Ah well, what can ya do?



After spending a cooler night at AK we headed over to AKL for our Jiko meal! This is the meal I was most looking forward to on the trip.

Everyone here was so friendly. We had a great waitress. She was so friendly and even sat and talked with us for a long time after our meal. She was the best!

We were started off with nice warm soapy rags to wash up with which was nice coming from AK. They then brough out a bottle of Evian and the bread.

I liked the bread ok but dh was not a fan..

We both had the filet with mac and cheese.

This did not disappoint. YUMMY!! Filet was tender and juicy and the mac and cheese was the best I have ever had. We both loved this. My only complaint again is just that the portions were too small. We finished this quickly and were really wanting more of the mac and cheese to go with it.

After we finished dessert came.. Our waitress took ds to the kitchen with her to get a special treat...

Pistachio Creme Brulee for our anniversary...

It was very good..

We went with the Tanzanian Chocolate Cheesecake and Madagascar Vanilla Bean Mouse.

I loved the cheesecake and dh really liked the mouse!

This was a really nice meal. We MUCH preferred this one to Narcoossee's! We have it on the list for next year!
