Good grief! We traveled down to Dublin, OH for a 1/2 marathon DH was doing. On the way home, we stopped for lunch. Destiny had two hamburgers, small fry...and then finished her sister's hamburger. An hour later she wanted to stop and get snacks as she was hungry. An hour and a half after that she was asking "When are we stopping to eat?? I'm hungry!" She's a tiny thing, too, but ya sure wouldn't guess it based on how she has been eating lately!!

Sounds like she's having a growth spurt! or high metabolism... If neither, I want to know her secret! I wish I could stay tiny and eat 2 1/2 burgers.

That sounds like my DS!
He doesn't eat like that all the time..just usually before a growth spurt or something, but when he gets like that, man can he eat!

He loves Eggo waffles, and one morning we wanted to see just how many he could eat. We gave up and CUT HIM OFF AT 8 WAFFLES!
An hour later he was hungry again.

He'll eat 3-4 grilled cheese sandwiches, 3 bowls of cereal at the time, etc.

must be the age...my dd who is almost 8 is eating us out of house and home. she out eats her brother most of the time and he is 10. she's very tiny too. must be a growth spurt

Sounds like all of my children, they are really good eaters. They can out eat my husband and I , and I like to eat :lmao: Its nothing for them to eat anywhere from 2-4 sand. at a time

Here's another with a little tiny 8-yr-old (smallest in her class / the chearleader who is always on the top of the pyramids, etc.). Took her and her little brother to Village Inn yesterday and ordered the pancakes for both of them. When they came, the plate was huge - I was shocked that was a kid's meal. Anyway, thought to myself, should have ordered one plate for them to share. But, within a matter of minutes, she had finished off her plate and was asking her brother if she could have the rest of his, as he only hate maybe 1/4 of his pancakes.

Wait until they become teens. My DD's friend is 14 and has a 15 yr brother they have a pool and the Mom has an end of school swimming party every year on different days for each child, She claims she buys much more food for the girls than for the boys and the girls always eat it all!

My 9yo niece will eat more than I believe hwr belly can handle, but so far she hasn't exploded. It's weird, where does it go?

I can remember that age and being hungry a lot! And, of course i was not small thing.:) A few years later though, it was a different storyl.
Unfortunately for my daughter that age hit her hard too. But, she was really hit hard because she was on an antiseizure medicine that makes you hungry, and at age 8.5 she had back surgery and couldn't do anything physical for a year. A kid who had always had to eat many meals a day to keep weight on, now ballooned way up!
But, if I remember right i read somewhere that it is a girl's way of getting ready for puberty. I reckon the body wants that extra energy or weight.:)
My daughter now only eats about one big meal and day, and if we're having something for supper she doesn't like she'll skip that meal altogether. Of course thankfully we also got her off that particular medication.:)
I thought i would have to buy locks for the cabinets there for a while.:)
Unfortunately, my son is now 11, almost 12. Those teen age boy years are fixing to hit! :rotfl:
I may still buy those locks.....;)
