Hollywood and Vine breakfast or lunch?

I was planning on doing a lunch here as we'd like to rope drop. But after seeing the price difference (which is even more as we are Canadian) I was wondering if maybe we should try for a pre-opening breakfast.

Has anyone done either or both? What are your thoughts? We will try for a Toy Story FP and probably the Tower of Terror but other than that will stick to shows.

Thanks

First, let me say we're not big buffet fans in general but have down H&V for the disney jr characters for my daughter. We did breakfast on both our trips and while nothing spectacular, the food was fine. In my opinion lunch is much easier to mess up and not worth the extra money, so I'd stick with breakfast. Another option would be to do a late breakfast where you'll likely catch the switch to lunch and be able to try a bit of both all for the breakfast price.

Thanks! That's a great idea. But I just checked the dining website and it seems the latest reservation I can make is 10. Lunch starts at 11. Would they let us stay for over an hour? And then we only have an hour or so in the park before dining. I'm really not sure if that matters or not...... Decisions, decisions.....

We did the breakfast and enjoyed it. It wasn't fantastic or anything but it was good. That has the reputation for being one of the louder restaurants and it definitely was well earned. It was a good way to meet the Disney Jr characters. We don't plan on going back this trip, but we would return there.

We have a 10:10 reservation. Last year at lunch we were there a solid hour, probably more.

Does anyone know when they start the dessert bar?

You can stay as long as you like, it is your meal ; ) I don't remember but I thought our reservation there was around 1030 or so and they started the change over to lunch around 11 and had both breakfast and lunch offerings available at that time.

The standards were pretty much the same at both in my experience. CP had more options, and more special items. H&V was pretty basic. But it was cute, and relatively cheap.

We did lunch and it was awful. I'd originally had a breakfast reservation and changed it and I wished I'd stuck to the original plan, because as PP mentioned, it's harder to ruin breakfast food. Even the salad was gross.

Yeah, I've had lunch there and was less than impressed. I even ate some chicken tenders from the kids' section because it looked more appetizing than some of what was offered to the adults.

But I love breakfast at Crystal Palace, so am curious if the same or similar foods are offered then I may want to try Hollywood & Vine for breakfast.
