Hollister??

lol i agree i think there clothes are adorable and the guys are hot but they couldd tone it down justttt a tad :]
and the prices too! :D

For me personally, I think that that is an age where they shouldnt be obsessed with labels and what not. I see these young girls walking around, looking like minerature teenagers, and to me, its not right. Im doing an internship at the Middle School and I see way to many kids wearing labels...way more than at high school.

For a lot of people, I think its a phase, that during MS, you have to dress like that, and im glad that a lot of kids grow out of it once they reach High School.

And a lot of the girls are waaayyy to skinny. It really cant be healthy. I know I am really skinny for my height, but I eat like no other, and its just my matabolism doing its job. However, thats not the story behind every girl and to me, these labels are telling these girls that they need to be skinny, and therefore they dont eat or what not.

thats just my opinion though.

Amen to that :D

At my little sisters' school, K-5, all of these kids are wearing North Faces, and Hollister and A&F.
My mom refuses to buy them for my sisters, and I applaud her for that.
They should be worried about playing outside, not how much their outfit costs.

And yeah, in middle school I wore Hollister and A&F, just like you said, it was almost necessary to fit in.
A lot of kids in my high school still dress like that...
I don't get it. It all looks the same.

I don't shop there. The work ethic of the people that own the Abercrombie and Fitch corporation make me sick. Can't stand them. And I made a promise to myself a long time ago- if I can smell a store before I can see it and they don't sell perfume and soap, I don't shop there.

Their clothes don't fit me. I don't like their clothes, either. The majority of my friends who wear clothes from there (or any other A&F company) complain that they always get little holes and that they wear out really quickly.

Also- my friends and I Nicknamed Abercrombie and Fitch "Abersnobbie and B***h" because a lot (not all, but a lot) of the girls and guys at our school who wear A&F/Hollister clothes have this "holier than thou" attitude. Again, this is just my school.

well i guess my school is a little more accepting bc i dont wear hollister or a&f every day i only have like 5-6 shirts from them

but im pretty well known

and alot of guys think im "hott"?

so i think its who you are not what you wear

I don't care about prices.

I care about quality. Those clothes have BAD quality..

...
What does that have to do with what she said, at all?

what im getting from it is she is agreeing with the people who are saying, "you dont have to get the clothes just to fit it" or along the, lines. That you can wear clothes bought from walmart and still look just as good as the ones that to wear the Hollister, ect; clothes

oh. first, it is kinda rude to say chill out.
second she's new, she didn't know =)
INCREASE THE PEACE.
haha I had to throw that in somewhere.

what I'm trying to say is that you don't have to wear name brand to be pretty.

and it kinda seem like you're freaking out on me that's why i said chill out, i wasn't questioning your personality.

It's not always because the people think it's...what they SHOULD wear. It's their opinions on what they LIKE to wear.

I know the junior high kids from my town wear way too much A&F/Hollister. You can go to the school, and I'd say...75% of the girls are wearing basically the same things. It's so sad, that people can't be original anymore.

I actually just thought of a line from a song by Gretchen Wilson. Lol. Random time for that!

"Victoria's Secret. Well, their stuff's real nice.
Oh, but I can buy the same damn thing on a Wal*Mart shelf half-price
and still look sexy, just as sexy, as those models on TV
No, I don't need no designer tag, to make my man want me"

I love that line because it shows that somebody can be "hot" without having to fit into itty bitty pieces of clothing.

Their work ethic does make me sick, sick, sick, though. They have exhibited racist trends in their clothing designs. They have marketed thongs in their children's stores (there was a lawsuit over this. They sold thongs stating things like "eye candy" and "want some sugar?" on them to girls ages 6-10. Waaaaay too young for a thong, IMO). They have consistently sold clothes through the use of "hot", young males and females posed in alluring positions. They sell low quality clothing.

I'd much rather wear my clothes from Kohl's, JC Penny, Hot Topic, Roots, and even Wal*Mart to an extent.

I'm not "fat". I weigh 167lbs. I have just over 50 pounds of muscle. I'm 5'3". I'm athletic. I have wide hips, however. Therefore I wear a 9/10 or an 11/12 instead of the 5/6 or the 7/8 that my friends wear. I'm not ashamed of that fact. Yes, I wish that I could wear those sizes because whenever I go shopping they stock a lot of those sizes because they have the highest demad while they only stock a few jeans in my sizes because not many people wear them. I hate seeing people whose bones stick out of their skin because they are purposely trying to "get into that 00" like so many people these days. And its not just the girls. I know at least one guy who has gotten over anorexia because he felt pressured to wear certain clothes and the only way he would be able to was by starving himself.

Okay, I'm not trying to be rude, really I'm not, I just had to say this:

You said where you live its about who you are not what you wear. But then you said that guys think your "hott". That doesn't make sense when put together. Being hot is not about your personality, it is basically like judging what someone wears. :confused3

I know your new, and trust me everyone goes through this when they first join. They post on their first thread, say something and it seems as though people are ganging up on them when really we aren't. It just bothers people when someone who has never posted on comes on and gets an attitude. This is a discussion board, so we can not tell how you are meaning for what you're saying to come out. You could mean something in the nicest way and it can come out like your being a total jerk. You just have to remember that people have formed friendships so if you say something thaht ofends one person, some others may come on to defend them. You just have to be careful with what you are saying, while still expressing your opinion.

If I'm wrong in anything that I've said.. just tell me. I was just trying to help.

i gett what your saying but like down here if your pretty your pretty there no denying it and there are alot of pretty girls here and dont take this as me sounding conceited bc i truly are not. if that makes sense?

but if you have a nice personality here, people will find you attractive regardless of what you wear.
