:flower: Just wondering if anyone has stayed at the Holiday Inn Oceanfront in Cocoa Beach. I have read that it is relatively close to the port. From the web site it looks nice and also I have read they received some renovations from the hurricanes last year. If anyone has any info, please post. I am all antsy trying to find a nice place as I have just cancelled my ressies at the Radisson. TIA :cheer2:

We have stayed in Cocoa Beach before, but not at the Holiday Inn. Have you looked at the Doubletree? It is a lot nicer and a little closer to the actual beach than Holiday Inn. Prices are similar too. Actually, if you look online for hotels in that area, they are all right next to each other along A1A and are about a 10 - 15 minute ride from the port.

We stayed there about 5 years ago and it was an ok hotel. Older hotel and the rooms open up to the outside not a hall. The pool was nice. It is right on the beach. You are right about the hurricane problems. We were supposed to stay there the night before our cruise last Oct but it was closed due to the rehab. Now that they did the rehab the rooms might be updated. If I remember right it was not very expensive. It is about 5 minutes or so from the port. There are nicer hotels but if you want the beach at a reasonable price I would try. When checking in, ask for a recently renovated room.

Good luck.

Good morning,
When the hurricanes came through here last year, unfortunalty it damaged everyone of the hotels and motels - they are all up and running except the Howard Johnson that was too far gone to renovate - the Holiday Inn, Doubletree, the Radisson have all been renovated and they are a pleasure to stay in - Leslie with the Holiday Inn will be more than happy to help anyone she can to make their stay pleasurable as well Jay with Doubletree and Joe P with the Radisson. I can NOT say enough good about them - as anything in life, something can go wrong, but every step is taken to make things right.
There are 4 more motels/suites/Hotels going up here on the beachside - before long, you won't see the ocean for the hotels so in about a year, you will have more choices than you know what to do with.
Good luck
Always
Shirley

We are on the Repo cruise now and just stayed there Friday night. I paid $68 for the room and I think I would stay somewhere else next time. The pool looked nice but the room seemed old. The hotel had exterior corridors. The parking was HORRIBLE! There was some car show going on in the parking lot and every spot in the whole complex was taken. There may have also been some sort of convention at the hotel. People were driving around for a long time looking for spots. I had no problems with the customer service....checkin and check out went smoothly. Next time if I think I would stay at a different hotel...just my opinion though.
