Holiday Inn Nikki Bird Maingate

Definitely not new. It's not East or West, either. If you come down World Drive to Hwy 192 and take a right, it's I think the first hotel on the left, before you get to Old Lake Wilson Rd. It's an older hotel. If you do a search here, you will find several threads and reviews about it, some good, most bad.

Thanks for the quick reply. My search for Nikki came up empty. A friend is considering a reservation here... he'll keep looking.

this is in Kissimmee - not Orlando - holiday Inn Orlando is in Orlando - there are several some are along International Blvd.

I think it is the closest Holiday Inn to WDW - it is close to mile mark 6 in Kissimmee on US 192 W (W Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy)

It was very nice when I saved there - several years ago.

Haven't stayed there recently.

If you do some research on Travelocity, you'll see it has a lot of negative reviews. We looked into it also, but were quickly turned off after reading the reviews.

Hope its some help

Yep...
It's located on 192 about 5 minutes from MGM...we drove past it everyday on our way to the parks.
To me it looks more like an older motel...

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Nikki Bird in March of 2004 after winning it on priceline for $28 a night. Anyhow, I really HATED it there. I thought even $28 a night was too much for this dump. I had never stayed in a bad Holiday Inn to that point. Since everyone has different expectations I'll point out a few of the facts that disgusted me--- but might not bother others.
---The carpets had numerous (more than a dozen) large crusty feeling black stains. They were a minimum of 3ft x 3ft each. To the touch they had that hard crusty feel.
---Our room window was caked w/ a film. It actually blocked the sun out quite nice, too bad it wasn't supposed to be there. It looked as though it was years of grime just built up, I'm not a forensic expert though so who exactly knows.
---All of the light fixtures were more than 70% rusted. Just not very attractive.
---We found 3 major tears in the bedding on 1 of the 2 beds in our room.
---The one pool (the Mickey Head pool) had a lot of debris and naked toddlers in it. The pool had a large amount of tree branches, food wrappers, and dirt in it every day.

Now aside from those which were just fact observations. The location was very close to Disney and many shops and restuarants. The bathroom and room did appear to be surface clean. Just not kept up, which gave it a really rundown shabby, flea bag motel feel and look. Last, we didn't see any bugs, and trust me I was looking.
