I've heard some great things about Hojo and was wondering about your experiences there. We are thinking about staying there in the future. How far away is it from the parks? How great of service, rooms? just an over view of Hojo's?
Thanks!
-Christine

At Hojo's service can't be beat, they are some of the friendliest people I have ever dealt with...the rooms are great, fairly large and comfy beds and if you can get the ET rate it can't be beat anywhere!!!! I got the pin code to stay at one of the resort hotels but chose not to only because we love Hojo's and it isnt any farther of a walk than the DLH or PP.... I think you will be happy with a stay there!!! I know we always are!!!
Sorry no pics but I will for sure take some when we stay in August!!!!

This is good to here! Yes, I've heard nothing but great things from Hojos! Also with the discounts and such being mentioned, if I wanted to use the AAA discount, would are whole group have to be a AAA member? Or...:confused3
I'll be waiting for those pics ;) I hope you have an awesome time in August!
PS- love the Edward in your icons ;)

I'm almost positive the AAA discount is the same as the DisBoard discount (15%). So you could just use that. If any member of your party has an AP, they could get a discount of 20%. The best is the ENT rate, of course.

HoJo is my #1 hotel in Anaheim. I even preferred it over the GCH. You just can't beat the value.

Better then GCH? :scared1: wow it must be good!:) Now, I'm sorry I'm completly oblivious to these discounts, what is the DisBoard discount? and what is ET?
Sorry for all the questions!
Thanks!

We had room 4205...building 4 in the Pavillions. The room was wonderful. Pillow top beds. Two half circle windows in the arched ceiling. A balcony overlooking Pirate's Cove. Everything was clean and extremely comfy! I requested foam pillows and they were able to supply them.

The front desk staff was incredibly busy during our stay, which may be why they were less friendly than we experienced last time. Not that they were rude in any way, but they were business-like rather than personable.

They did do a great job of getting me a cab the day I needed it.

The only "bummer" was that Pirates Cove was only open until 9, not midnight as the sign said. We made it back on time one night and went back mid-day another day so the boys could play.

I would definitely stay at HoJo's again. It is cleaner and quieter than hotels I've stayed at that cost considerably more. The walk to the parks is easy, so don't let that disuade you!

Many might disagree with me on the "better than GCH" opinion, but our stay at the GCH was very mediocre. I expected a lot more for my $$.

The Disboard rate is 15% of rack rates. You just have to ask for it. The ENT/ET rate is the Entertainment Book rate. You have to purchase an Entertainment coupon book (for any area), and show the card that is provided in the front of the book. You can check your dates at the HoJo boards to see if it is available during your stay. It is typically 50% off rack rates and the rooms range from $59-$79 a night depending on room type. You don't need the card to make the reservation, but will need to show it at check-in.

I stayed at the HoJo in October of last year and it was great! It's very close to Disneyland. We were on the end of the hallway closest to DCA on the 4th or 5th floor.

I would not hesitate to stay there again. Don't forget about the FREE parking! The only complaint that I have heard is that the rooms *can* be noisy if your hotel room faces the highway. A "theme park" view fixes that for just a few dollars more.

Also, how would one aquire an ET? Also does every person that is going have to get an ET?

You can get the Entertainment Book at a variety of places. You would want to get either your home town book for local discounts or the book for the Anaheim area for discounts there. I would probably get one through the Entertainment Book company itself or through a place like eBates or UPromise where I would get a rebate of some kind. You WILL need a valid Entertainment card from the book when you check in. Unlike most places with the AAA card the HoJo does ask to see it. I don't know if you can book multiple rooms on one card. Call the Anaheim Hojo's directly, they are quite friendly and they will have your answer.

Thanks Christine, I'm sure we will have a great stay and where better to celebrate a 40th birthday than DL...
Thanks I like your avatar also we are big Twilight fans here!!!!!

We stayed in a Disney view room at the Ent rate last October and loved it! There's pictures in my trip report, specifically a snapshot and a video from the balcony, showing the view (TR linked in my siggy below, the pics are on page 5, I think, plus there's a video of DD13 jumping on the bed page 5 too).

We stayed on the top floor of building 1, room 1713; great view and we'd requested a view not blocked by the trees, and we got it. Will always stay there in the future!

I have been to every Disney park in the world and nothing tops the MK at Disneyland. Nothing. It is my first park (at the age of 4 in 1965) and my favorite park of all of them. My DH prefers Disney Sea in Japan but I simply adore Walt's park. It's so ... compact and rich. I love it !
