Hojo Q? Reviews?

I have been to every Disney park in the world and nothing tops the MK at Disneyland. Nothing. It is my first park (at the age of 4 in 1965) and my favorite park of all of them. My DH prefers Disney Sea in Japan but I simply adore Walt's park. It's so ... compact and rich. I love it !

Yes, Disneyland has always been my favorite! I mean, nothing can compare to the orginal! For me it kind of has that friendly hometown feel:confused3
hey, but thats just me:confused3

We stayed at the HoJo last September. We were very impressed with the service from our first call to 'enquire' right up until we checked out.

We had a great room in building 1 with a Disney view & 2 very comfy queen size beds. The laundry room, Mini grocery store, Castaway Cove, free Interent & Mimi's were all wonderful extras.

The walk to Disneyland was a leisurely 10 minutes with our 2 girls (then 6 + 8). We crossed the road at the lights & walked along the DL side cutting through the bus area, saving us some extra time & extra steps ;)

Overall a very positive experience & the price was awesome!!

:scared1:omg - Do a search people of reviews, reviews of the hotel are a daily thread on this website.

yeah! I really wanted to stay onsite, but we found HoJo & DH stopped hyperventilating :rotfl2: so we went with the HoJo & will never look back :thumbsup2

After my last trip, I have decided not to go with the super budget friendly Motel 6 and start going to HOJO. I've had it with motel 6. I hate the remodel, the beds suck, they don't have dressers anymore, and the service is awful.

If I wasn't going to DLH in Sept, I would go to hojo then, but Hojo will more than likely be my choice in 2010.

got it! No Motel 6 :)

I stayed there last week from June 8 to 10, room 2218 in building 2.

King room facing the quiet pool.

Very good king bed. Clean room.

Pretty quiet hotel, never heard anything even if I was right across the ice and vending machine.

Also, Hojo is right across Mimi's Cafe and this restaurant is very good.
Fast service and friendly staff.

I'm almost positive the AAA discount is the same as the DisBoard discount (15%). So you could just use that. If any member of your party has an AP, they could get a discount of 20%. The best is the ENT rate, of course.

HoJo is my #1 hotel in Anaheim. I even preferred it over the GCH. You just can't beat the value.

Just wanted to clarify::

AAA Discount=10%
DISBoard Discount=15%
AP Discount=20%

I'm still a bit shakey on the Disboards one... do you have to give them your username or...:confused3

Nope, just request the DisBoard 15% discount and they'll give it to you. It's good for other Dis fan sites as well (i.e. MiceChat, Laughing Place, MousePlanet, MouseSavers).

Good to know about the Disboards discount, as I thought AAA was the same. Since we are on a tight budget this trip, every little bit helps!

Ok more questions for you wonderful people, I want to get an entertainment book, I want to be able to use mine for Anaheim and where I am (Inland Empire) is Anaheim in the Inland Empire? If not which city would I get for it? Also, could you use the Entertainment coupon booklet and the Disboards discount all together for the same trip to cober the hotel? And is the Entertainment booklet a one time use kind of deal or is it for the whole year you buy it for? Sorry for sounding like a dummy, I'm just confusd :)

As long as the Card has an Entertainment Logo on it, and its valid for the time that you'll be here- it can be from any city/area! :goodvibes

You can NOT combine discounts. You get one or the other. If your dates are Ent. Rate dates, grab the Ent. Rate. You just can't beat it. And they will frequently sell out of those dates, so if you see them - grab them. You can reserve your rooms w/out a deposit, you just need a credit card number (they do NOT charge it). Just make sure you cancel them if your plans change, then they open up for someone else to use.

The card is good for a year - from I think, November 1 to October 31. We will have to get a new one for our trip in Nov., but we will have already used it for 3 separate trips to DLR and will have stayed at HoJo all those times.

We love, love, love HoJo. We always stay in bldg. 2 because we love having a micro and fridge and it is a quieter part of the hotel. We have had a first floor room (Dec.) a 3rd floor room (May) and then whatever we have in 3 weeks. We did really like room 2319 (Monster's Inc. anyone???) because it is a big sort of triangle shape and had TONS of room. We requested a rollaway bed for our 13 yr. old and we still had plenty of space to walk around and not stub our toes.

:thumbsup2 Great job HoJo. We love you!!!

Thank you for the aswers, i was thinking you couldn't combine them! Thank you for the room suggestions! The question still remains...

will Inland Empire one work for anaheim? is Anaheim in Inland Empire?

Although I would disagree that HoJo is better than the GCH, the Grand has the convenience factor, and the HoJo's best view cannot compare to the Grand best view and good food. Convenience is what the Grand offers, you can pop into one park or another and be back to your room in a flash! If you stay in concierge that is another whole ball of wax. However, you will pay a very high premium for this experience.

Because I had read so many positive feedback on this board on HoJo we decided to stay one night before we check into CGH.

We were pleasantly surprised with HoJo! Not only is it a excellent value
( Entertainment Rate), but it is very clean, beds are very comfortable, and the staff is wonderful! We arrived late at night and left early in the morning, so we did not walk to the park! But our stay was very pleasant and I would definitely stay there again!

The service HoJo gives it's guest is on the same or better than concierge level at the Grand. We asked for extra blankets and before we got back to our room, the blankets were there. We were upgrade to a premium room at no additional charge! Thanks Katrina! The beds are just as comfortable as the Grand! I like the beds at the Grand a little better but it is a matter of opinion.

The only thing I would not like about HoJo is the walk down Harbor Blvd. That is only my opinion. I cannot argue with the great value HoJo has to offer! For the Entertainment price, value, HoJo wins hands down!

I didn't have nearly the good experience almost everyone else has had at the HoJo...several items in our room didn't work well or at all (the safe was quickly fixed, the Internet was eventually fixed but it took some trouble on my part and them belatedly sending someone in-person, and the loose electrical outlets that kept items from charging were, I'm assuming, not fixable at all). The air conditioner was quite loud (it ran nearly constantly) and while the walk was manageable, if anyone in your party is prone to illness or fibromyalgia, the walk may be enough to keep them from coming back to the parks after an afternoon break. :( (That's not really HoJo's fault; the hotel isn't much farther than some others, but it is at the edge of what most people seemed to consider an acceptable walk.)

The room was clean and a good size, though, and the Disney view was nice. And Loraelle is so nice online! (Haven't had the pleasure to meet her in person.)

I think it would be fine for the $59 Entertainment rate, but paying an average of almost $100 out-the-door per night for 4 nights (one night at full price, the others Entertainment/Disney view), I wasn't wowed. It was probably a fair rate given the proximity to Disneyland, but I'm one of those that doesn't really understand the rave reviews the hotel gets.
