Hojo Q? Reviews?

We will be coming to DL for the first time December 21-30th and I just booked a Disney View room. I am so excited. I would have loved to stay on property but the cost was just too much for me.

Should I request a certain floor for my room or do all the Disney View rooms all have great views. Since this is our first visit I want it to be as magical as possible. Also, are the bathroom sinks located outside the bathroom? I could not tell by the pictures on line.

Thanks.

I believe that every Disney view room has a good view. I'd suggest 7th floor if you don't mind skylights letting in a ton of light in the morning, and 6th floor if you do mind. Any lower than that and I think the view will be compromised. (Though in reality the "view," at least from the 6th floor, consists of being able to see the Monorail, Matterhorn, and parts of Tomorrowland. I thought that was fun, but don't go in expecting to see the castle or anything. I did hear that fireworks were visible from our room, though. I was always in the parks!)

Any of those rooms, however, may be blocked by the large pine trees in front of the building.

Not every Disney view room has 2 sinks, either. If there is only one sink, like ours had, it will be located in the bathroom.

Have a great first trip!

I was very satisfied with the view, and only one sink was fine with our party of 3. :) The electrical outlets were the main problem that we didn't think we could get resolved, so we didn't inform them of it. I would bring a power strip if I go again, just in case.

ok, we will make sure we do such!

Actually, now that I think about it, I have heard stories about Disney view rooms not being a good view. :( I don't know what I was thinking when I said they were all good views. But our view on our only trip was fine for sure, so in my statistically insignificant experience, every Disney view is good. ;)

Just depends on what you call a good view:) I agree with you, every view of disney is good:confused3

Count us as another satisfied customer. Aside from the rate, the room size was a big plus for us. We were in the Disney view, two queen bed rooms in Building 1. Although we only have four people, the rollaway was a huge part of making it a great stay as the then 14 year old got his own bed.

The outside sink was great too. And my 10 year old love the pirate pool although I though he'd be too old for it.

I believe the same designer who designed the original Disneyland hotel also designed the hojo complex as well???

It's so funny that when I tell people where I stayed, I always have to qualify - well, it was a Howard Johnson, BUT let me tell you about it. :rotfl:

And I sure hope they are paying you well Lorealle! I gave you a raving review - how you make a large hotel feel like a personalized gem for all its guests! :woohoo:

I cannot believe you said that you think HoJo was designed by the same designer as the Disneyland Hotel! Here is why...when we first arrived at HoJo, I told my husband it had an old feel like the old Disneyland Hotel ( before the upgrades, additions, etc.) It had an old Americana feeling to it, in the best sense of the word! Wow, very interesting! :)

Howard Johnson's - Anaheim. Just google hojo anaheim and you will find their website.

Hey hold on there Missie! Are you going back this October without me?? I am so jealous! :goodvibes

(We ran into each other last October when she saw my Lime Mickey Head on my backpack! It was so cool to meet a fellow Dis'er in the park!)

We were at the Hojo June 25-July 3. We loved our room and the location. We were in Building 2 room 103. If you sat on our balcony, you could actually see some of the fireworks. I was totally surprised by that. Now, I am not saying that it was a great view of the fireworks, but still kind of cool. We had a garden pool view.
Housekeeping was great. I left a note with our tip asking for 4 towels, 4 handtowels and 4 washcloths every day and they did that for us with no problem.
One day we had returned to the room before housekeeping came. We just asked for fresh towels when they came. The supervisor came to make sure we didn't want them to come back later to clean, which was very nice.

You can fit a gallon of milk in the fridge if you take the shelves out and a few other things in the doors and inside.

Our room had 2 sinks and the bathroom was pretty large for a hotel bathroom.

We were able to get 2 nights at the Ent rate of $69 and the rest were $84 with the ENT discount. I was pleased with the price in relation to the experience.

I picked this hotel because of the great reviews here and because of the themed pool area. We ended up using the Garden Pool more because for us Texans, it was chilly at the Castaway Cove! There is a hot tub for warming up though! I really thought that we would be at Castaway Cove more than we were.

Who me?!? Ummmmm, the answer would be yes. I'm sorry. Can you work it into your plans? I see you are going to Boston and ball games. You'll have fun. Do the Freedom Trail if you can. It's great. If you can sneak out of Colorado in Oct., I'd love to see you in the parks again. We are flying out of DIA on Oct. 13th. On that last trip, I met another DISer in CA. We'll see how many we see this trip.
(So get your LGMHs on people!!!)
