HOJO Entertainment Rate Calendar

Does anyone know whats up with the calendar? It looks like it hasnt been updated since November. I just called to book some dates in February (2/6-2/10), all of my dates are showing up on the calendar as being "entertainment rate" dates, but was told the calendar had changed and the dates were no longer entertainment rates (except for 2/6). If the calendar is not being kept up-to-date, how do I find out if they become available in the future?

BTW, does anyone have any thoughts on alternative cheap walking-distance hotels?

I had gotten out of the habit of checking the calendar anyways as it wasn't the most up to date, even when they last updated it. Whenever I wanted to know I would just give them a call and ask what days it was available during which month I was interested.

Yeah, this is probably the way to go. I loved checking the calendar and plotting and planning. The calendar is just a courtesy though; the hotel doesn't need to provide it. Hojo can still choose to offer entertainment rates without publicizing them so blatantly. I've noticed that some of the hotels are getting a little more cagey about their discounts again now that the economy is picking back up. Deals may still be there for the asking, but if they can get more people to not ask and just accept higher rates, then all the better for the hotel. It definitely pays to shop around. Doesn't mean I won't necessarily stay at Hojos, even with a higher rate, just means I don't accept as a given anymore that that's where we'll be, and I check a lot more hotel rates before I decide.

You did call in-house reservations, right?

I've stayed at Stovall's Best Western and would recommend it. My only complaint is that since it's a motel it's a bit noiser than HOJOs. I booked thru Orbitz and it was around $60 a night.

A lot of people also seem to like Anaheim Plaza Inn.

Also, if your dates are definite HOJOs was having a 3-night stay promo, you might check to see if that is still available. There was no refunds if you need to cancel though.

Good luck!! :)

I check the calendar every day, sad that they don't seem to be maintaining it. We all rave about their customer service. This seems to be a customer service issue to me.

I'm not going to call every day. I'm just not going to do it.

I guess they just aren't going to have my business.

Pretty disappointed with them lately.

Hey Everybody!

As you can probably tell if you've been to our site lately- we're in the process [and almost finished] completely revamping our website and message boards! [Even our Mattercam got an upgrade- and we're really excited to announce that you can now watch the fireworks show on our Mattercam each night!]

There's a new ET/AP/IR Thread posted up here too!

Hope this helps, and thanks for your patience with us!

Thank you Lorealle, I see my dates are still shown as available in the updated dates, even though I was told they weren't available this morning, I wonder if they made a mistake. I will call tomorrow and double-check.

Glad to see the site will keep getting updated.

Lorealle,

I called in-house reservations this morning (12/21), and they are still telling me 2/7, 2/8, and 2/9 are not "entertainment rate" dates, even though they are showing in the updated schedule as available, so I think the entertainment schedule was not updated correctly.

They sent me an email this morning indicating that those dates were not available any longer- so they've been removed from the threads now.

Thank you for the heads up!

We're thinking of trying HoJo's next time rather than our normal Fairfield Inn. What is the average costs for HOJO's?
