We are going away this weekend for our son's hockey tournament and wanted to put something on the hotel room doors to identify the players. Any suggestions?:thumbsup2

I'm not sure why you want to identify the players-- for morale, or to make chaperoning easier?

If it's #2, the easy fix is masking tape over the door overnight. The kids can still get out in an emergency, but if that tape is broken before you let the kids out in the mornng, they have some explaining to do.

That is a cool idea.

Hockey stick or puck with their number on it.

I don't like the tape idea because anyone (anyone at all) can walk by and pull off the tape thus making it look like someone left their room.

We always print out a sign for each player's door with the team logo, their number and "Good Luck" . This way the kids can identify the other player's rooms more easily & hopefully won't disturb other visitors. Also, by leaving the player's name off the sign it doesn't identify them to strangers. FYI duct tape sometimes takes the paint off of some of the doors- we made the mistake once. Now they use a bit of hockey tape (only on the boys without adults in the rooms). Good luck at the tournament ......unless it is the same one we are at. LOL:rotfl:

I think the OP meant it more for a decorative/spirit approach. Not to tell if the kids left the room. I like the signs with the # and good luck.
May have to do that next year at a tournament.
Our season is officially over as of last night!!!
Now to fill our weekends until try outs.

I am sooo jealous that your season is over. We still have 1 tournament this upcoming weekend. Not that it matters much because we were at the rink tonight for the 3-on-3 games that they have weekly until tryouts. I don't think hockey season ever ends.

Don't be too jealous. We are only done until Saturday when off ice starts!!
When are your tryouts? Ours were pushed till May this year.
What level are you? We are Pee Wees in South Jersey.

We ended our season this weekend at a tournament in Nashville. At our hotel there was a team that had signs on their player's doors. They had their team name on the top, a picture of a hockey jersey with their emblem in the middle and their child's name & number on the bottom. I thought it was a great idea and plan to do something like that when we go to tournaments next season.

What team does/did your son play for? We might have played you-my son is a Titan peewee in central jersey. I believe all the tryouts are now in May per USA hockey. I remember I saw something explaining the change in this month's USA hockey magazine.

Doors?? how about windows!!...maybe you could use some foamies with suction cups to hang them from the windows that way the kids dont mess it while apening and closing doors... some numbers and nicknames in the color of the team
:hippie:
