I am wondering how these hours compare to last May and I'm also wondering if all the increases from the last few days (increased Water Park hours, increased MK hours, etc.) tell us to get ready for THRONGS of people OR just that Disney is breathing a sigh of relief that people are still coming and they can afford to run typical hours.

Unfortunately, I haven't seen any change in park hours for our days since I looked 2 weeks ago. We will be there 5/7-5/12.

I wish that MK would stay open later than 7pm. As for the other parks their times are just fine.

Good morning! Not sure if you saw this but just in case, the MK is open on Sat May 10th from 9-9 and they have added spectromagic and fireworks. Share a Dream Come True Parade 3:00pm, SpectroMagic 8:30pm and Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks 9:15pm.

Lets hope this is a really big sign that things at WDW (in terms of park hours) are going to return to the good ol' days of a few years back.

I remember going August 1997, when parks were open til like, 8pm every night. Now you're lucky to get one late opening a week!!

Like everyone--I'm hoping for extended hours for our trip in just about 2 weeks from now.

Unfortunately, we've been there several times during May (just last May, in fact) and the hours are somewhat similiar to those we've experienced during those trips. I think I see some differences in the water parks (which we haven't been spending any time there in recent trips). MK--I think the Friday hours might have been 8:00-9:00 not 7:00 and there were a few Monday's I think that were a little later. All in all, they are basically the same with a few small exceptions.

I'm sure the crowds will be there. But I was thinking, what about the moderate resorts. I've never seen them sold out/full like this before. Can you imagine being at CSR or CBR at capacity and trying to even get a table in the food court, or find a chair around the main pool. And lets not even think about the buses.

Interesting thread. What I fail to understand, and I KNOW someone here can help me out, is why cutting hours is beneficial to Disney. I know the more hours I spend in the parks, the more money I spend. Would keeping MK open another 2 or 3 hours really hurt them? Imagine all the food and souveniers they could be selling in those extra hours? Or are things like utilities that expensive that they overshadow things like that?

....the reason for the moderate to seem packed/sold out, is because of the refurb on POR(or was it POFQ??) which sent all those folks to either one of the moderates(CBR/CSR) for our time frame(We leave for Disney a day behind you:bounce: )

I am really hoping that is it....I could be wrong.

I am just hoping that early May will still be what I remember May to be..total Magic!!!!
