I have just found your TR and am thoroughly enjoying it! :cool1:

I had read yout TR on the "Girls Trip" and really didn't recognize you at first from that until another poster pointed it out! DUH! Glad they did! :goodvibes

Can't wait for more!!!

Loving the report!!! Spaceship Earth is one of my favorites also along with American Adventure always being a must do. Something about the song at that brings tears to my eyes.

Last installment until Monday! (sorry, busy weekend!)

Wednesday January 10th 2007: Part IV

We continued around the World Showcase, hitting up Italy, Germany, and China.

Then we rode Maelstrom and continued on through Mexico and back to Test Track to use our fastpasses that had finally become valid!

We poked around Mouse Gears a bit, but decided we were too hungry to shop!! So we headed back to Mexico to eat at Cantina de San Angel. Joe had the Plato Combination with some Dos Equis, and I had a Margarita and the kiddie quesadilla. The margarita was delicious, but I will never order a frozen drink on such a cold day again! I couldn’t even hold it without my hands practically freezing off!!

We chatted over dinner, and Joe expressed interest in riding the Finding Nemo ride again, so we headed right there. We walked right onto Nemo and then were lucky enough to walk right into Turtle Talk with Crush right after! This was our first time seeing Turtle Talk, and while it was cute, and I can see why the little kids would be dying to talk to crush, I personally don’t really see what the fuss is about.

On the way out of the Living Seas, Joe got a call from his sister. He had mail at home from the Post Office. (A little back story here, he had been trying to get a position with them for a while now, and had finally gotten an offer letter right before Christmas, but they made him defer his start date because of the time off he needed for the wedding.) Turns out, this letter had the new start date! Just a week and a half away! Woo-hoo!!

We hopped on the Friendship boat and rode across the lagoon to Morocco to take one more stroll though some of the countries all lit up after dark. As we were getting off of the boat, a CM stopped me to ask about the wedding. She then presented me with two Tinkerbelle pins, as part of the Year of a Million Dreams. I was to keep one pin for myself, and then give the other away to a deserving guest.

DSCF6749.jpg

We made our way around the countries again, enjoying how different the sights are once the sun has set and the countries are all lit up. We decided to head back to Mexico and try to get a table to watch Illuminations from, so we headed back that way, and were sitting by about 8pm or so. We just chilled (LITERALLY, it was cold. . . I was wearing a long sleeved shirt, a sweat shirt, a North Face Jacket and gloves by the time Illuminations started) and waited for the show to start.

DSCF6754.jpg

We loved this location for Illuminations. It was our first time viewing form here (We have seen it in Germany and Morocco before) but this was a fantastic view. We will definitely be back!! It was one of the best Illuminations EVER!!

We made our way out of the park, after the first big rush had swarmed by and headed back to the Wilderness Lodge. We grabbed some snacks at the Roaring Fork to satisfy a sweet tooth, and were off to bed (with our first real towel animal!!

Next time on ‘His and Hers Trip Report for the Ages’: Animal Kingdom!

Cantina de San Angel was really good (in case you can't tell, I really like to eat). I did think it was a little strange that Kim wanted the frozen magarita through, since it was already in the 60's, but whatever! We're on vacation! I got some great news from the USPS, and i'm working for them now! The pins were another magical moment! I couldn't wait to give them out! Everyone had been so nice to us so far, I was sure it wouldn't take long! The view of Illuminations from Mexico was somthing! It seemed like they were launching the fireworks off right in front of us. The music was a little loud, we didn't realize that the cute, little fishing boat on the shore by Mexico was actually a speaker :), but oh well! One of the best Illuminations that we'd ever seen! It was really cold though....

I had read yout TR on the "Girls Trip" and really didn't recognize you at first from that until another poster pointed it out! DUH! Glad they did! :goodvibes

Wow! That's great! Thanks so much for reading both of them!!! :goodvibes

Another great installment. You guys take great pictures!!! I wish mine would come out that good. I love the Margarita's in Mexico they are very yummy. Can't wait to read more!!!

I had the taco salad at the Cantina the first time I went to Disney and that was so yummy! I can't understand why I haven't eaten there again since! :rotfl:

Just wanted to say I'm still enjoying your TR!! The kissing shots are so cute,:love2: and it sounds like this Disneymoon has been very magical! I'm going to check out your friends TR like the other Dis'er's have done. Thanks for a great read! Oh, and Joe, congrats on the new job!:cool1:

luvfigment- The Margarita was definitely yummy!! And it warmed me up a bit, just not my hands! I will definitely be having another!

TKDisneylover- I hope you enjoy the other report!!

And Jennifer48- Next time we will have to make sure we have lunch in Mexico!! It was pretty darn delicious!

Another installment coming up shortly!

Thursday January 11th 2007: Part I

The alarm went of at 8:00am as usual, and we were in the car and on our way to the park by 8:30am. It was actually warm today, and I got to wear shorts! Hurray! I drove for the first time in almost two weeks, because Joe had to make the all important call to his boss to put in his notice.
It went a little something like this:

Boss: Hello.
Joe: Hi! How are you?
Boss: Good. How was the wedding? How is the honeymoon going? Did everything work out alright?
Joe: The wedding was great. I can’t wait to see the pictures. And the honeymoon a lot of fun despite being a little cold . . . but listen. . . I kind of have news.
Boss: *dead air* . . . . . um, what’s up?
Joe: Well, I have been in the process of with the Post Office to get a letter carrier position, and I just got word from home that they want me to start in less than two weeks. So next Friday is kind of going to have to be my last day.
Boss: *dead air*
Joe: Sorry about not being able to give you more notice. That’s why I wanted to call now. I didn’t want to wait until Tuesday when I was back.
Boss: *dead air* . . . . Yeah, I probably would have killed you for that one.
Joe: Sorry, but this was an opportunity that I just can’t turn down.
Boss: Yeah, well I am going to need it in writing when I see you Tuesday.
Joe: Oh yeah, of course. I just wanted to give you as much notice as I possibly could. Heck, I am calling from my honeymoon.
Boss: Well . . . ok then. See you Tuesday.

Ouch! Oh well! On to bigger and better things!! We laughed it off!

We arrived at Animal Kingdom just after 9:00am and hurried back to Expedition Everest for Fastpasses. We then hopped right into line, since the wait time only said 10 minutes.

After escaping the Yeti, we headed right back to Kilimanjaro Safaris, and practically walked on. The bus driver must have seen our buttons and ears in his rearview mirror, because before we took off, he had the entire bus say ‘Congratulations’ to us!

The safari was great, and we saw a lot of animals that morning including the baby giraffe and baby elephant, 3 cheetahs, and the lion standing up and walking around.

DSCF6794.jpg

DSCF6797.jpg

If you look really close there are cheetahs lying down in this one!

DSCF6809.jpg

We popped over to It’s Tough to be a Bug before heading to Pizzafari around 11:00am for some lunch. The place was empty and we had a nice relaxing lunch while deciding what else to hit before leaving the park.

DSCF6814.jpg

We decided that Festival of the Lion King and the new Finding Nemo Musical were our only main concerns, so we would tackle those and then head out.

Next time on ‘His and Hers Trip Report for the Ages’: The Lion King, Finding Nemo and back to the Magic Kingdom!

I was dreading making that phone call, c'mon, it's a pretty awkward thing to have to do. I actually felt pretty bad that all I could give was about a 9 day notice. But, what can you do? There were no hard feelings when I got back to work the following week. Being in the passanger side of the rental might actually have been a little more awkward, since I'm supposed to do all the driving (hope Avis isn't reading this...)

Everest was pretty awesome on this trip, I had forgotten how much fun it is! It was nice to be able to do it twice too...You know its off-peak at WDW when the standby time for Everest is only 10 minutes...After that, we had a really good safari. We seem to have pretty good luck with the safaris though. One time it took us about 45 minutes to get through since the giraffes decided to all hang out in the road. That didn’t happen this time, but we had some good moments, like seeing the lions actually moving around. Usually, they just lay there. What a life!

Can't wait to hear about Finding Nemo the Musical!

Thursday January 11th 2007: Part II

So off to Camp Minnie Mickey first! I love this show, and can’t help but really feel the ‘Disney-ness’ when watching it.

DSCF6820.jpg

DSCF6835.jpg

Next we quickly hauled our bums over to Finding Nemo the musical, because it was starting in less than a half an hour. We got in line pretty far back, but made it in no problem. They actually were letting people in right up until the show started. Joe and I both LOVED this show. If you have seen The Lion King on Broadway, you will love it! It was great. I thought the songs were catchy and Joe and I were both singing “Big Blue World” randomly the rest of the week. (And I already downloaded the soundtrack from Itunes!)

DSCF6839.jpg

We rode Expedition Everest one more time with our Fastpasses, and picked up an Everest T-shirt for me!

On the way out of the park, we stopped at the restroom. Now, normally this wouldn’t be something to note, since we do use the restrooms quite frequently. However, I had a lovely encounter with another cute little princess here that made me share my Tink pin. As I was heading out of the restroom, myself and the little princess went to the door at the same time. She noticed my wedding ears and held the door for me and said “Go ahead bride!” with a huge smile. I then heard her mother say “Good manners, Birthday Girl!” One quick look and I saw her birthday button. I ran to Joe and dug the pin out of the bag as quick as I could and ran back to give this perfectly mannered princess a birthday gift. She thanked me with wide eyes and a huge smile!

With a smile in my own heart from making the day of such a cute little girl, we headed out of Animal Kingdom and back to the Wilderness Lodge.

We grabbed some warmer clothes to change into later, so that we wouldn’t be too cold at the Magic Kingdom once the sun went down and hopped on the boat. We saw Clarabelle Cow again on our way in, and then we spent some time walking through the Main Street shops, and even had a home made ice cream sandwich at the Ice Cream Parlor, since there was no one in line.

We headed back to Tomorrowland and hopped on Buzz. To prove that Joe really was ruining my score earlier in the week, I took control of the spaceship this ride! And guess what!?!?! I whooped his sorry bum!! Take that buddy! I knew your crummy spinning made me worse!!

On the way out of the ride, one of the CM’s stopped us and asked us why he wasn’t invited to our wedding!?! Joe came up quick in the clutch and said: “We sent you an invitation. We just didn’t get your RSVP?” Nice! The CM replied with: “Well, I did have Fastpasses to every ride for you wedding present earlier.” HEARTS ALL A FLUTTER IN THE HOPES OF A DREAM FASTPASS “But I don’t anymore, sorry. I do have this though. Congratulations!” And he hands us a Fastpass good for any ride in the Magic Kingdom! OK! We’ll take it!

Next time on ‘His and Hers Trip Report for the Ages’: PixieDust that comes only once in a lifetime!

The Nemo show was really well done. Very reminiscent of the Lion King on Broadway show.....really, it's a can't miss at AK.

Let the records show that it was my idea to give the little girl that pin! :) I think Kim was all caught up in the cuteness of it, that it never really came to mind. Thankfully she has me!

mmmm....the homemade ice cream sandwich...

I challenge you to a rematch on Buzz next trip. Only this time no one gets to drive, we'll just sit there, facing forward and we'll see who wins. (me)

Nothing like free FastPasses!

I have just read all of your trip report so far and I love it!! I can't wait for more! I love having both sides of the story too, great idea.

Congrats on the wedding!

Oh bless, Love the photos.

One of the photo is beautiful I ever see!! Last photo of Epcot - river opposide disney!!

Cannot wait to see more photos lol

Bamagirl- Thanks! And I am glad you are enjoying the trip report!!:goodvibes

Scottishwee35- Ya know, when I first saw the photos when we got home, I was pretty impressed myself. I don't know what we did (or if Joe just got better at using the setting on the camera:lmao: ) but they came out great!!

Thursday January 11th 2007: Part III

We walked around Tomorrowland a bit, trying to decide if we wanted to use our fastpass on Space Mountain, but we decided to wait a bit longer before using it. We were on our way out of Tomorrowland, headed toward the Tea Cups when a CM, Barbara from Amarillo, stopped us to ask us about the wedding. We chatted with Barbara for a few minutes, and then it happened.

Barbara: Are you planning no staying until the park closes?
Us: Yes, we want to see Wishes tonight.
Barbara: You two look like a great couple, just walking around having fun. I would like to invite you to participate in a special event tonight.
Us: Ok. (Looking like deer in headlights)
Barbara: I have the opportunity to watch Wishes from the platform on the Astro Orbiter and I would like to invite you to join me.
Us: That would be great!
Barbara: Perfect. Go and enjoy the rest of the evening, and at 7:30pm meet me by the elevator to the Astro Orbiter. Do you know where that is?
Us: Yes, right over there right? *pointing* We have never actually rode, so I just want to be sure.
Barbara: Exactly, that’s it! I will see you a bit later then!

And Joe and I LITERALLY skipped off, hand in hand.

We walked around the park through to Pirates. The wait was too long to ride (50 minutes!!) but we did pick up our pirate shirts to use for our Disney Cruise in September.

We decided to take our fastpasses and ride Big Thunder Mountain for “the wildest ride in the wilderness” and headed that way.

DSCF6848.jpg

Then, we headed back toward Liberty Square, were we walked right onto the Haunted Mansion. I stopped at the kiosk on the way out and found the perfect postcard to send to my parents. I wrote on the back “Just a little taste for you!” (They have been asking for us to go with them to WDW for a week sometime this year or early 2008. They have both never been, and are afraid to go without us! Talk about role reversal! The kids showing the parents the ropes for their first trip! We don’t have any actual plans yet, so who knows if it will really happen, but we will have to wait and see!! ) So we headed for City Hall to get a stamp and drop our postcard in the mail right away.

After changing into the warmer clothes in the restroom, we caught most of the Dapper Dans show on Main Street. They were just terrific! I had never seen them before, and their singing and dancing was just infectious! While we were watching Barbara startled us both by popping by to remind us to meet her later! Was that lady following us around!?!?!

DSCF6852.jpg

We had a quick bite to eat at Cosmic Rays, and then headed back to Main Street to find a spot for Spectromagic. It was pretty insane on Main Street and this was the only time Spectromagic was showing while we were there. We stayed in the hub, right near the bridge going to Tomorrowland, so that we could get to Barbara quickly right after the parade. We encountered plenty of rude people that unfortunately seem to come along with seeing Spectromagic. These particular ones did not speak English and kept sticking child after child in between us and the family on the curb we sat behind. For the most part I don’t mind, even though I do think it is rude, as long as they aren’t blocking my view. However I pretty much had one lady’s foot up my bum, and actually had to say to one of them “No, you CANNOT sit on HIM!” forcefully, as she was pretty much sitting her child onto Joe’s lap. If I didn’t love Spectromagic as much as I do (and had missed it on the last trip) I probably would have just given up and left. But we stuck it out, and the parade was as good as always.

Next time on ‘His and Hers Trip Report for the Ages’: We get our special viewing, and MORE PIXIEDUST!

My heart was beating a thousand miles an hour when Barbara stopped us and asked us about our plans for the evening! I had no idea we'd get to do something so cool though! After she invited us to the Astro Orbiter, I mentioned that we had never even ridden it, even though every trip i've always mentioned wanting to. Then, Barbara admitted that she had never ridden it either! That made me feel better....

Hehehe, i'm pretty excited about the possibility of going to WDW with the inlaws!

The Dapper Dans were very impressive too....We caught the tail end of their show once on one of our previous trips, but we got to watch them for a good 15 minutes this time. They were really cool!

Yeah, those people around us for Spectro this trip were getting on my nerves. You know how it is, you're pretty smushed in to begin with. For some reason, they thought it would be ok to basically sit on top of my legs to watch the parade....hello! I don't know you, you can't sit on me! Oh well, Specto was pretty good from that viewpoint, we usually sit on the left side of Main Street, around Casey's.
