January 9th 2007: Part IV
It was starting to get dark and a quite a bit colder, so we didnt do too much except poke around. We stopped in the Christmas Store in Liberty Square, took a quick turn around Aladdins Magic Carpets, and popped back into the Pirates store to see if they had put out anymore shirts.
It was about 7:15pm or so, so we decided to split up again. Joe and I were headed to Cinderellas Royal Table for a 7:40pm reservation, and Jen and Dan were going in search of some dinner, and finding a good spot for Wishes.
Joe and I made our way around the castle, stopping to take a few more photos of it all lit up at night.
The area behind the carousel was blocked off (I think it has something to do with the fireworks) so we had to ask to be let in to get to Cinderellas Royal Table.
We checked in quickly and were sent into the seating area to wait and have our picture taken with Cinderella.
After a short wait, we were taken upstairs to be seated. We werent lucky enough to be seated by the windows, like I had hoped, but you still wont hear any complaints from me. Sayid was our waiter, and he was just terrific. He was very attentive and helpful. They dimmed the lights in the dining room during Wishes, and we could see a lot of the fireworks though the beautiful windows at the back of the castle. It was very magical, and rather romantic.
We enjoyed our dinner very much. For appetizers: I had the corn and crab soup and Joe had the BLT salad. For Entrees: I had the Grilled Pork Tenderloin, and Joe had the Spice Rubbed Chicken. For Dessert: I had the Chocolate Mousse Cake and Joe had the Blueberry Buckle.
Sayid presented us with champagne toasting glasses that with Cinderellas Royal Table etched on them. He also was kind enough to let us keep a copy of the menu as a souvenir. (We had asked to see one at the end of the meal to take a picture to remember it- and he insisted that we keep it!)
As we were heading out of Cindys, I stopped to ask if they might have a bag I could carry the glasses in. While they were looking for one, an adorable little girl all dressed in her princess attire ran up to Joe and said Happy Marriage!! before quickly running back to her parents! She was just too cute, and it was one of the sweetest moments of the trip.
We slowly made our way out of the park, taking plenty of pictures. It was wonderful to practically have the park all to ourselves. About halfway down Main Street, it happened. . . .The elusive Kiss Goodnight. I had never been in the park long enough to hear it. The projections on the castle were beautiful, as was the little message thanking everyone for spending their magical day there.
With warm hearts and cold bodies, we finally left, catching the very last boat back to the Wilderness Lodge. I think we didnt even speak to each other much that boat ride. Just sat there, holding hands, content with thinking about what a magical wonderful day we had just had. And people wonder why we keep going back so often!
After we got back to the Lodge, we met up with Jen and Dan for some nice warm Jacuzzi time. We recounted what had happened after we parted ways. Finally, we had to say our goodbyes. Jen and Dan would be sleeping in tomorrow, before heading back to the airport to go home, and we had a date with Epcot. After hugs, as we walked away with thoughts of nice warm beds in our minds, I couldnt help but think I guess this means that the wedding really is over, and now it is just Joe and I.
