We stayed at the Hilton last week Sunday through Wednesday. Here's my review!

On our past DL trips (4 of them since last May; we are AP holders), we've stayed at the Anaheim Marriott (and one night at Hojo, I guess) and been very pleased with it. However, our usual package rate (including room, parking and glorious breakfast buffet) was not available during our trip last week. We'd roamed into the Hilton before and thought maybe we'd give it a try. The had good prices on their website, but I decided to bid through priceline (my first time using it). We got the room for $75 per night, plus tax.

Arrival was easy enough, in spite of pulling in during the last day of the world's largest natural products convention! We waited about 5 minutes to check in. I had requested a room with two beds in a quiet area, but we were checking in an hour early so I was just hoping for a ready room. At check-in, I asked if they had any Disneyland view rooms available. The employee said that those rooms are usually an upgrade (true; $20 extra per night), but that if she had one, she'd give it to us at no additional charge. Thankfully, she found one on the 8th floor in a quiet area with two queen beds! :goodvibes

We used self-parking ($15 per day and not included in the room price), and got a spot right by the elevators. Our room was easy to find. It was very nice and clean. I was thrilled with the view from the floor to ceiling windows. We could see the Matterhorn, Grizzly Mountain, Space Mountain, TOT, and even the top of the Main Street train station and castle. Needless to say, the fireworks view was perfect. (We watched them from our cozy, comfy beds every night!)

The room was nicely furnished and very comfortable, beds included. High quality (large, thick) towels and bed linens. Classy modern fixtures. Granite counter-top in bathroom. Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries. Flat screen TV with good channel selection. Overall, I felt that the room did match up with the 4 star rating that priceline gives it. Much more so than the Marriott (double beds instead of queens, less space in room) across the street, which also gets 4 stars from them. The room was also much quieter than than any of the rooms we've ever had over at the Marriott. We slightly missed having an in-room refrigerator, but we eat out all the time anyways. When requested, housekeeping quickly brought up foam pillows for my husband who can't stand feathery pillows. Thermostat worked great and HVAC was pretty quiet when running. Housekeeping came every morning while we were at the parks, so when we went back for our DD's nap, the room was always clean. Free USA Today paper each morning, too.

We never had trouble with ART. The buses ran very regularly, and we always got seats. I know many of you love to stay right across the street, but my DH wants a really nice hotel (not motel) when we're on vacation. Our one night at Hojo's didn't cut it for him. (I know, you're thinking... :scared1: ) And with spring break prices, we felt that we'd definitely get more for our money by staying a short drive away. We did walk to and from the parks on our arrival day. Good to stretch out after the 6 hour drive. With little ones though, you'll definitely want a stroller.

Public areas of the hotel were clean and well kept, although some refurbishments are going on, including the pool. They're adding a kids splash/play area, which I think will be very nice once finished. The MIX restaurant looked quite nice (slightly overpriced, but most hotel restaurants are), although we didn't eat there. I scanned the breakfast buffet one morning, and found it to be slightly larger and better presented than the buffet at the Marriott, which we think is pretty incredible. Plenty of quick elevators; we never waited more than a minute. The gift shop is huge and not so over-priced. Great selection of stuff. The little food court and Starbucks are handy, although we didn't eat at them this time.

Our bill at check-out was correct... just the daily parking fees. All I had to do was call down and say we were leaving. Easy! With taxes and parking, our nightly room total came to $103.33. For spring break week at a solid four star hotel, we felt the room was a terrific value. :)

We had a great experience with the Hilton and will certainly consider staying there again on our next trips, especially if we can get more good priceline deals or deals through the hotel's website. The extra room space and queen beds instead of full ones will be a necessity soon, as we're about to adopt a second daughter!

Great review! We have stayed at the Hilton many times over the years and have always found it to be a great place (although I do miss the days when they had their own shuttle to DL). MIX is a great restaurant that we have eaten at many times. The food and service are terrific!

Thanks for taking the time to post and congratulations on your growing family:goodvibes

Great review! We always stay at the Hilton when we're going to be there overnight or longer, and it never disappoints. :)

Is this the Hilton Anaheim? I am currently staying at this hotel and it is absolutely wonderful. Here is a great tip I found out. If you log into the wifi in the lobby which is free, you can bring your computer up to your room and still have access to wifi. This is an awesome tip that I picked up here http://www.hoteldealsrevealed.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=77&t=1240

Now, if this rain would disappear, I would be a happy camper!

Great to know for next time! We didn't bring our laptop this past trip, but might in the future!

So glad to find your review! We're looking for a nice hotel for our wedding night and wanted something in that area! (Doesn't have to be walking distance either.) Great to know and I'll be checking it out!

Thanks so much for the great review! We are DLR newbies and trying to plan for somewhere you don't know is such a gamble :confused3

We are booked for the HoJo (this Oct) but will be checking out hotels nearby for future trips - we moved from the East coast and now are closer to DLR than WDW...very excited to see Walt's park :thumbsup2

We stayed there Wed.-Sun. and won't be using Hilton properties anymore. We booked late so paid over $140/night. Our first night, our 'disney view' room did have a nice view of the fireworks but nothing else, and the service elevators next to us made sleeping hard. In the morning, we moved rooms. In this room we heard our neighbors walking and talking and crying and then in the middle of the night screaming curse words at the top of their lungs. We called security who did respond. We know, because we could hear every word. Not Hilton's fault, but the walls were so thin it sounded like they were in the room with us.

The shuttles were a big pain after a while. We spent probably 80 minutes a day waiting/riding. I longed for the Tropicana or Fairfield.

The beds were really hard and they had no foam pads at this property. They nicely gave us some free Starbucks vouchers at check-in but the only time we could get anywhere near the place (long lines) was in the evening or late at night. The concierge twice sent us to a store that was closed. The maid took one of my beers.

On the good side, the property is pretty, the staff was nice, the rooms were spacious, the food court was handy (though it closes whenever they feel like closing at night, usually before 9). If you can get it for $79/night, don't mind the shuttle, and sleep heavy, it might be a good buy. We've also stayed at the Marriott, Fairfield, Tropicana and Desert Inn before, and would happily go back to any except the Desert Inn.

Thanks for the review! I see when booking that they offer a breakfast "buffet" as well, but for extra $$. I've only seen a few little bits alluding to it, but it sounds good? Hot stations including custom omelets? Or was that a different place in the hotel? It looks like it's $14 extra for two people when booking ahead of time, but the hotel claims it's a $45 value (lol). Do they really charge $20+ per person? It might be nice to get a GOOD breakfast, especially if only about $7 per person. Thanks so much! (And thanks about the wifi comment, that's awesome!)

We were at the Hilton a few months ago for a convention and it was very nice. We had a very fancy (!) room for some reason. It was more like a suite. Huge, lots of floor space, gigantic bathroom. Giant windows that took almost the entire wall and it faced Disneyland.

A few nights we were back in the room and had an incredible view of the fireworks show. It was just great! We shut off all the lights and just sat and watched the show. We really enjoyed that.

I was there for a conference and we added on Disney days since heck, we were RIGHT there. It's not very Disney inside. It's more of a business hotel. Kids certainly don't get that same magic you get at the Disneyland or Grand Californian.

We've stayed at the Hilton 4 times in the past year. Always used Priceline to book and paid $50-$65. Great hotel at a great price. Only negative was the parking garage. My full sized truck was too high for the rather low 6' 4" clearance. I found parking next door at the Sheraton easier as its very close to the front lobby of the Hilton.

The buffet is $23 per adult! And a child eats free with each paid adult, even when the breakfast is purchased as part of the room rate/package. (I called to verify, though you may want to double check.) So actually a family of 4 can eat for that additional $15... cheaper than fast food in the parks for sure! And the buffet is HUGE and very classy. Made to order omelets, pastries, cheeses, yogurt parfaits, breakfast meats, and MUCH more. You won't be disappointed. A great value when purchased with the room!

Does anyone know what would be the clue that the hotel they are offering is the hilton on priceline. I LOVE staying there and would love to get a good deal.
