I just booked a two bedroom at HH for the week of May 15-23rd. Any advice or recommendations as this is our first time there and we have a 5 y.o.? thanks!

We've been three times in the last two years. It is our favorite place. Our kids are now 9 and 7 and they have always loved it, as well. There is so much to do..........or not do. I find HH to be the most relaxing place. We spend a great deal of time at the pool, beach, bike riding and doing the activities provided by Disney. There are many other things available depending on what your family is into. The dolphin crusie is great. The beach there is wonderful. The kids love the campfires. Unlike when we go to WDW, we really don't have a plan at HH. We go and just hangout, relax and do whatever motivates us at the moment. We went this past May and I think it was one of the best times of the year to go (previously we had been in March and November). Have a great time.

we have been members at HHI since 1999 and we do not plan. We also just hang out and go with the flow. We have not yet taken any tour that is offered. It just seems to busy for us to worry about what to do. we just swim, beach, and eat at many of the wonderful restaurants.

Definitely plan on renting bikes while you are there. My favorite family activity at HH is riding on the beach and the bike paths!!!

My father & sister own a Marriott timeshare in Hilton Head since 1993 and we absolutely love to go. I believe we have not gone only 3 times, when they exchanged to go to other locations; every other year we choose HH. The timeshare is oceanfront and the Marriott property is top notch. We get a free pass to Sea Pines plantation since the resort is just outside Sea Pines' south entrance.

We never plan any activities... only meals! It's funny, but we cook almost all our meals, so we come prepared with our groceries, plus we make several grocery stops at the Bi-Lo (love it!).

Anyway, the only thing we do plan (besides meals) is to rent the bikes. One of my favorite activities is to ride the bikes on the beach and Sea Pines. HH's bike paths are amazing. I also love to visit the lighthouse.

One recommendation: visit The Chocolate Canopy. If you like chocolate, you will find your heaven in this place. It's a mom & pop shop that makes their own chocolate and it can't be beat. They are famous in the island for the high quality chocolates.

Other than that, we love to hang out at the beach or the pool. Maybe go to the outlet stores; but really, I just go to relax. My DD7 loves it there too; she loves the pool.

I know my experience in HH is not Disney (yet, now that I bought points I might book there one day), but I've been going for 10 years and I never get tired of it. It's a lovely place.
