Hilton Head (next year) - July or August??

Those of you who love Hilton Head in the summer, do you have preferences for July versus August (or vice versa?) We're trying to plan a trip next year, and trying to see if the weather is better one month over the other.

I am not sure there is much distinguishable difference between July and August. Both are peak periods. Both have about the same weather patterns. I would say whatever works best into your schedule should determine that. I am not considering the 4th of July week as a part of this comparison though.
